I agree that Karen is more likable in the Little sister series then she is in the normal BSC series. I started reading the Little sister books first when I was around 6. Around age 8 I started reading the normal BSC books. It is still fun for me to go back and read a little sister book occasionally. It reminds me of a simpler time when I was a little kid.

I think my favorite WTF moment was in Karen's Hurricane. A hurricane hit Stoneybrook and flooded all the streets, and after it passed Kristy paddled around town in a rowboat helping people get from their stranded cars to their homes. It's been a while since I read it so I forget where exactly she got the rowboat from, but come on! That's so...weird. LOL! That's hilarious. Definitely a big WTF moment. Kristy in a rowboat...awesome. I was surprised when I found out how long this series is. 122 books plus a bunch of Super Specials! I'm just glad Karen didn't get her own set of Mysteries. I love the illustrations in these books, Karen always looks so cute. I guess a big reason why I still like these a lot is because I read them before the regular BSC books. I did always wonder why SO many of them take place in the big house, even though she only goes there every other weekend.

I love the Little Sister books and like Karen better in them than in the BSC books. She means well but is just a bit.... I thought the same thing about Kristy and the rowboat? ! Probably so many books take place at the big house because it is more interesting and has more plot opportunities.

I don't find it so weird, probably because I've read Hobie Hanson, Greatest Hero of the Mall by Jamie Gilson a bunch of times, and after reading about Molly Bosco and her inflatable giraffe during a flood, a rowboat just isn't that weird.

I think it is Karen's Hurricane when Kristy is in the rowboat because it is right after a big storm.

Now this has me wanting to reread the rowboat one. I'll have to get Karen's Hurricane next time I go to the library (which could be a while with the stupid bad weather we've been having here in cold, snowy MI - we need spring to come quickly!

Agree with you about the spring thing, I am so sick of this Michigan weather.

Spring? What the heck is spring? We don't really get a noticeable spring in eastern Canada. We kind of go from winter straight to summer.

It kinda sounds like a town that I used to live in, where we only get two seasons, summer or winter.

Sometimes I think in Michigan we only have two seasons, winter and construction.

I live in Arizona. I think we get spring and summer. Our winters are freezing to me, but they really only get down to in the 50s. I don't know how Dawn can live in CT after living in CA... I would die if I left here, lol.

50 degrees is freezing? Try -40. (-40 degrees Celsius and -40 degrees Fahrenheit are the same thing. I think that's the point where the two scales meet.) Not that I should be complaining at all, though -- today is possibly the warmest it's been here in the past couple of months. It is a nice warm 0 degrees Celsius, which of course makes it 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wow, there's lots of Michiganders here. I've decided it's just easier to learn to like cold weather.
