So which one did you think was the most realistic mystery?

The missing ring was pretty realistic! I think a lot of the earlier ones, they tended to get more unrealistic later. That said, I haven't read all the later ones!

I think Kristy and the Missing Child. The resolution of the mystery was simple and believable, and didn't feature 13-year olds solving crimes.

Yeah I agree. It's a scary real life situation.

Definitely the earlier ones, though the ghost car was pushing it lol. Once the BSC started getting better than the cops and started busting real criminals...

I think books 1-7 are pretty realistic. After that perhaps Mystery Money too. Having said that I enjoy most of the Mystery series (Haunted Mansion is ridiculous but I love it!). The only thing that annoys me about the series is every mystery is so different from the other, including the settings. Some mysteries, such as burglaries, don’t just happen as a one-off!

My vote is for the Mystery at Claudia's House. Everything happened because Janine had a boyfriend and wasn't ready to go public.
Even though Dawn's involvement/solving the mystery is unrealistic, I also think Dawn and the Halloween Mystery is another good one. Their response to the robberies is how I think any neighborhood filled with young families would react.

Mary Anne and the Library Mystery was pretty realistic...especially with the honest discussions about book burning and all.
The fact that the girls and the library staff was so open and honest about how right-wing fanatics have tried to censor literature was spot on and indicative on how free and progressive Stoneybrook truly was.
Loved the references to the Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume books also.
The BSC girls were very well-read and it showed in their chats about the books they'd read.

I just read Mary Anne and the Mystery Book store and I thought that was kinda realistic. Aside from Mary Anne hallucinating in the end (she thought she saw a ghost), that's exactly the kind of thing store owners would do to promote their business.

I actually haven't read most of the mysteries. I will say that the real thief in the mystery ring one was spot on. Muahahaha.

I loved that several of the Mary Anne mysteries were related to books since Mary Anne loves to read.
