I have learned not to go anywhere cheap, like Great Clips. Paying more is definitely worth it when it comes to hair. They'll hire just about anyone at those cheap salons, and half of them don't know what they're doing.

She knew what she was doing, she just didn't listen to what I wanted.

^I was just reflecting my own experience of getting a bad haircut and why it turned out bad. I wasn't implying anything about your experience and why it turned out the way it did. I hope I don't sound bitchy, because that's not how it's supposed to come off. It's hard to convey tone properly when you're just typing! Just trying to explain myself

I had the exact same experience with a hair salon today. I totally hate what this woman did to my hair. You got a mullet yesterday? You're awesome. No seriously, sorry you don't like your haircut. I hate getting my hair cut too because I have curly-ish hair (I think you do too?) and people really don't know how to cut curly hair. I go much longer between trims than the recommended 6-8 weeks.

I have really curly hair. And candycake, you sounded just fine-I wasn't offended or anything. She cut it way shorted than I wanted it and especially cut my bangs wierd...which is the one thing I REALLY didn't want but oh well. It's starting to grow on me and it'll come back eventually.

As a kid, I felt relieved when Karen's hair was back to normal on the cover of #9, Karen's Sleepover. ;D I always liked her hair in the illustrations...it was long and looked really shiny and healthy.

^ Yeah, I always thought Karen had pretty hair. The rest of her however... ;D.

She was normal-looking in the illustrations of the early books, but later on she was odd-looking.

Yeah. I find it hard to believe Karen's hair grew back fully by book #9.

She comments in #9 that her hair has been growing back in, but it really ought to be still pretty short.

^It should have been like a cute little bob or something, but she had the full-blown pony tail back.

This book is definitely a Little Sister classic. The picture of Karen on page 70 is especially goofy.

And don't you remember how shy you felt in 2nd grade when you encountered the big girls in 5th grade?

Karen looked like a Hawaiin drag queen in that picture with all the jewelry and makeup, but she looked adorable in the pictures with ricky, her outfit on the last page was cute with the haircut.
I wonder what Pamela Harding would have said about it if she were in the series already.
