This was a cute idea for a LS book. I liked that it was published in July (I guess I liked the summer feel to the book).

yeah it really was, I remember buying it early July and reading it all summer in addition to obsessively trying to complete Super Mario 3 and succeeding

I wanted Ruby more than Natalie
and Pokey and Bob practically disappeared after a few mentionings in the future

I would have named the cat Diamond instead of Ruby because of the diamond on her forehead. I know that it would be cliche and unimaginative but that's just me. I have a question: are cats difficult to care for? It's not like you have walk to them, so that's not a problem.

She should have named her Diamond I agree, and Bob Pearl instead, kind of like Prince the artist's dancers Diamond and Pearl from the Diamonds & Pearls era and he once had a protege named Cat that rapped and danced

I like all of the names we've mentioned better than the ones Karen chose. I thought her names were pretty unimaginative. Then again, I like to name animals human names.

^ Those were very amusing! I think they might be up there as one of the best LOL moments in Little Sister history! I love how she made everyone else call her a new name everyday and got upset when they forgot.

Yeah I loved it too, and it was so cute how Ricky was the only one who got them right, he really liked her! My favourite scene during announcing her first name change was when she told ricky off and was pointing at him

I would have loved seeing a picture of Watson wearing "bright red fish-shaped" oven mitts! Speaking of "fish" I loved the illustration on page 5 of Karen and Andrew playing Go Fish because the cards look like the ones I remember from eons ago. www.etsy.com/listing/26620866/s-a-l-e-go-fish-18-vintage-fish-shaped What I liked about this book is the cozy feel it had. As Afton said, it was a happier LS book, a nice break from any true conflict. I also agree with you Scrounge that the Growly solution could have been better. All of you know what I think of cats. I laughed when I read the caption on the front cover that says "Who wouldn't want a cute, cuddly kitten?" Um,me!" I wish them the best but lol not near me. A cute, warm, puppy on the other hand I did think it was very sweet how Karen made and distributed birth announcements for the kittens and yes I also felt so badly for Natalie. I was happy for Nancy and Pokey but it seemed like Natalie could have used a furry (even cat) friend more. Isn't there a book where Natalie does have a pet, maybe some type of guinea pig or rat or am I just thinking of Hootie and Emily, Jr?

Natalie's mom was telling her she could get a pet, but they meant something small like a guinea pig and that she should have spoken to her first before saying yes to the cat. I think Karen should have told her classmates to ask their parents and let her know. And now looking back, I feel sad Natalie lost out and thought Karen seemed a bit too glad Rosie wasn't being given away.

Aww I felt really bad for Natalie but why was Claudia there? Was she sitting for the Kormans that day?

I guess so! I always loved when sitters were mentioned in the LS books.
