I am excited by this because they could be fun to listen to if I'm doing a long solo run or stuck inside on the treadmill.

Thank you for sharing this. I don't listen to a ton of audiobooks, but this will be a really nice option to have. I haven't read some of the BSC books in a long time, so maybe this is how I can re-read some of the ones I don't know quite as well.

Do kids listen to audio books much? I can't imagine they'd be that popular with their target audience.

Good point. I can't imagine any kids listening to an audio book.

Maybe for car rides? I would never be able to watch a DVD in the car without the Pike family Barf Bucket. Also audiobook access is important for visually impaired children. I have the cassettes from the 90s (they came with charms!). Additionally, I think the target audience for all of these releases is definitely partially adults like us.

I've started listening to the books on Audible on some of my long solo runs. I'm five chapters into The Truth About Stacey now. Elle Fanning reads the first five books, so I've only heard her so far and not any of the other random, non-famous narrators. I really, really wish the Super Specials were on Audible. Maybe they'll add them someday?

I'm listening to Kristy's Big Day now. The narrator for this one does different voices for different characters' dialogue, which Elle Fanning didn't. Also I learned that I have been pronouncing "Papadakis" wrong for 33 years.

Also I learned that I have been pronouncing "Papadakis" wrong for 33 years. How do they pronounce it? I’ve been saying pap-a-dah-kiss. I’ve heard snippets of the voices, kristys has to my favorite and dawns is my least.

I was pronouncing the third syllable with a long "a" sound, "pap-a-day-kiss," which is wrong. If you're pronouncing it "daw" like in "dawn" and not "dah" like in "dab," you're pronouncing it the same way as in the audiobook. Although I started listening to Claudia and Mean Janine yesterday, and the narrator pronounces Mary Anne's last name flat-out wrong in that one. There's some book or other where we learn that it rhymes with "cheer," not with "crier," and in this audiobook, it's pronounced "spy-er" even though it wasn't mispronounced in any of the previous books.

I guess I've been saying it right for awhile then, I remember hearing that last name before but I'm really not sure where. I guess that the audio books have different ways to say things.

I'm listening to Logan Likes Mary Anne! now. This one is read by Emily Bauer, and her voice for Logan is awful. It sounds like Mary Anne is going out with Blanche from The Golden Girls. I don't know if any of the other narrators are any better at doing the voice of a thirteen-year-old boy with a Southern accent, but in this book it's really bad. I've found that they're all surprisingly good at Mimi's voice, though. They all do a better elderly Japanese lady voice than I would have expected.

Curious to know what are the voices like? I've only heard the snippets.

Elle Fanning narrates a little too fast for my liking. I have to set the speed at .95.
Ali Ahn is my favorite narrator (she does the Claudia books) though her mispronunciation of Spier bugs.

I looked at the narrators and didn't know any of them except Ali Ahn. I've only seen her portraying these hard characters, so it's cool that she gets to portray a fun young girl here. I also like that Mallory's narrator is named Vanessa, haha.
