Who were some of the most memorable teachers at SMS?
For me, I will sometimes just randomly think of the Dollys. They have to be a Peter Lerangis invention! The idea of two Dolly Parton lookalikes being BFF middle school teachers is hilarious to me.

^The Dolly’s were definitely interesting.
I know he wasn’t a teacher just a sub, but what about Mr. Trout? He appeared in the same book as the Dolly’s. I remember how much I didn’t like his handwriting at the end of Jessi’s Horrible Prank.

I remember how much I didn’t like his handwriting at the end of Jessi’s Horrible Prank. Mr Trout wasn't a sub. He just left after the Follies. He was a Short Takes teacher. Also, at least I could read his handwriting without trying. I always have to concentrate really hard to read Jessi's handwriting. Mary Anne's is annoying, too. Claudia's is third worst, but made harder because of her terrible spelling. Even when she's writing the same words as someone else on the same page she can't spell it ("laugh" - Stacey spells it correctly on one page, but instead of taking the example Stacey gave her, Claudia keeps writing "laff"). Mr Bellafatto was the sub who took Mr Trout's place. Actually, he was pretty good and strict when he gave one student double homework and sent another kid to the principal for throwing something at a girl (can't remember if it was a spitball or gum). Mr Trout was definitely interesting, but like Mr Kingbridge said, he was not a born teacher and definitely needed to do something else. And it's true - Jessi didn't actually do anything wrong, considering every other teacher got made fun of just as much. And the rest of my comment probably needs to go into that book thread... I remember the English teacher from the last Abby book, who was really into Shakespeare sonnets. I don't remember her name. I just remember Abby making all these cynical comments and her not really taking them the way Abby wanted. She really romanticized love in the way the poems romanticized love.

I like Wes..and felt bad for Mr. Trout, but understood where adults were coming from when they said he simply wasn't built to be a teacher..granted the students were rude and obnoxious, but his refusal to discipline them or correct their behavior wasn't doing him any favors. For that reason Mr. Bellafato was a refreshing change..loved when he let the troublemakers know what time it was from the beginning.

I feel horrible for mr. trout! At my school some kids drove one of our new teachers (the new English teacher) into switching schools. SMS is not a good place to be.
I always liked staceys math teacher, Mr. zizmore. It was a shame to see him leave in the friends forever series. Wes wasn’t too bad as his replacement.
Mr. doughty the teacher in European vacation was funny too.
