I still see Kristy and Stacey and Shannon since they know wealthy people and are likely connected in those circles. Maybe when she's older and connected within the right circle Claudia has a good shot too.

Good, glad you didn't. It was comments from others above like... ...that gave me the impression that some people thought of the BSC girls as either "gold-diggers" or "social climbers" or that the BSC parents would be tacky enough to hobnob with wealthy, "high-class" snootypooks people for the purpose of manipulating their daughters into meeting and marrying a wealthy man. Who mentioned those things? You're reading things into posts that are. Not. There. Maybe so, but some of the above comments implied the sort of helicopter manipulations that most Stoneybrook parents, even the wealthy ones, are far above. Anyway...I don't see any of the BSC ladies marrying wealthy...I see several of them making their own wealth. Ann herself has said that she is a feminist and that for the most part, the BSC girls are independent progressive, liberal feminists. I still see Kristy and Stacey and Shannon since they know wealthy people and are likely connected in those circles. I don't really see Kristy or Stacey marrying anyone within their immediate family circles from middle school. Kristy would create her own wealth independently without any family interference, then within a business circle she created herself of fellow entreprenuers either in NYC, the midwest or even Colorado, marry somebody from one of those social circles. Stacey would make a pretty great income on her own...I cannot see her waiting for a man to provide money for her. She'd most likely marry later than Kristy or Claudia, form her own social circles of a mix of fellow engineers, accountants, fashionistas, scientists, professors and the like and slowly select somebody from there to marry. Maybe when she's older and connected within the right circle Claudia has a good shot too. Since when is a wealthy circle a "right" circle? The real "right" social circle I see for Claudia is the BSC and a social circle of highly creative people who understand her unconventional thinking, whether they're wealthy, middle-income or poor. I see the BSC ladies selecting unconventional, off-the-beaten paths for themselves and that includes spousal choices. I also see the BSC arranging, planning and paying for their own weddings, not relying on their parents to do it for them. That's how I see things with Stoneybrook and the BSC. πππ

I mean if you think about it, connections are what brings promotions at work (if you don't run your own business), and how you meet people, etc. So Stacey does have a better chance at meeting a rich person through her dad then say her mom in Stoneybrook.

I mean if you think about it, connections are what brings promotions at work - if you don't run your own business - and how you meet people, etc. Sure, especially if you've created your own connections and not just relied on your parents to create connections for you. I can completely see the BSC ladies forming and creating their own set of social connections in university. Just think of the fabulous networking independent of their parents and outside of Stoneybrook they'd each create especially once they're all at their respective universities and once they branch out into full adulthood after graduation! I can see Mary Anne having a huge social network of educators, counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, humanitarians and activists in her NYC circle and elsewhere. I can also imagine Kristy and Claudia having an enormous social network that they've met and created through their businesses, universities...entreprenuers, artists, even some writers, actors, late-night hosts and all manner of creative people worldwide. Now my own creative juices are flowing for my BSC timeline and fanfic. πππ So Stacey does have a better chance at meeting a rich person through her dad then say her mom in Stoneybrook. Nope, don't see that happening. Stacey's likely to make her own six-figure income as most likely an engineer or accountant. She may wind up at MIT on a full scholarship with her intelligence, end up settling in Boston, create her network of fellow engineers, scientists, mathmeticians, accountants, tax experts with a few fashionistas in up there... without relying on her dad. Who knows, maybe Stacey may even be now well-connected with the scientists who created the covid vaccine and may have even had a hand in helping to end the covid pandemic! Knowing Stace, she probably has found ways to have gatherings that are a fine mix of fashion experts, fashionistas and brilliant mathletes and scientists. She could even help fashion designers and makeup artists work with scientists to create safe and humane clothing and makeup designs, which would boost her own wealth. Also...math genius that Stacey is, she probably has found ways to invest wisely and put aside a lot of money for retirement...without depending on her dad or any other man. ππππππππ

You have very lofty ideas for them but in a group of seven girls, at least one of them is bound to not be that motivated. It happens. I donβt see Mary Anne having a βhugeβ network, sheβs too shy for that. While Iβm sure sheβd find ways to handle her shyness in adulthood I think itβll always be her nature

You have very lofty ideas for them but in a group of seven girls, at least one of them is bound to not be that motivated. It happens. True, it does...but I do think all seven young women will create independent lives for themselves, not rely on a man to "give" them financial status or a lifestyle. I don't see Mary Anne having a "huge" network, she's too shy for that. While I'm sure she'd find ways to handle her shyness in adulthood I think it'll always be her nature True, Mary Anne will never be any social butterfly and her group would always be small...she's a shy, sensitive introvert who would crave quite a bit of alone time or just small gatherings of just a few people at a time. But shy as she is, she would not allow herself to be socially isolated. Her sensitive, caring nature would have her reaching out to those in need. I remember how she helped Angela, the girl who had been left homeless by abandoning, uncaring parents out in The Secret Life of Mary Anne Spier. I can completely see her as a youth and/or family counselor helping troubled youth and families. I can also see her doing quite a lot of humanitarian work helping out the destitute and those struggling with addiction or emotional and mental health issues. Especially with people harmed financially during the pandemic, I see her reaching out and helping them. I can also see her connecting families of her students and constructing small pod groups during the school closures to keep families from becoming isolated and to keep students from poor families from falling behind or from losing touch with supportive services. She's definitely that caring...despite her timid, shy, quiet nature, would not remain limited or sheltered in any limited world. And with her excellent sewing ability, I can see her sewing lots of face masks for those in need. πππ I can also see her volunteering to help people set up flu and covid vaccination appointments with her great organizing skills and helping people in the city get vaccinated. There would be no "social distancing" and none of the "virtual-only" business with caring Mary Anne. ππππ

I wonder if any of the BSC would be a top 1% wealthy, like Bill Gates wealthy. Most likely Kristy would be as wealthy as Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey, who today is a billionaire through the success of her own business. Claudia, Stacey and Abby are also real possibilities in earning billionaire sort of wealth through owning successful businesses. I suspect Stacey would be a very wise invester and would make tons of cash off investing in addition to owning a hugely successful engineering or accounting firm.
