Who's your favorite character in the LS books? Other than Karen, if she's your favorite! Mine is Hannie. I love Hannie! I think she is soooo cute, she's all roly poly and adorable and well I just think she's the cutest thing ever

Besides Karen my favorite was Hannie as well actually. I loved her spunk and personality!

I like both Hannie and Nancy. I also like all of the parents - especially Seth - and "love to hate" Pamela. And I like all of the kids in Ms Colman's class. I guess I like them all ;D

I tend to like all of them. After Karen, my favorites were Nancy and Hannie. Seth seemed very nice, and I also liked reading about Natalie Springer.

I like Hannie and Nancy too. And Seth and Lisa always seem nice. Ms. Colman always seems like a really cool teacher too.

Hannie was one of my favorites too! I always thought she looked cute in the illistrations with her high pigtails.

I was another Hannie fan as a kid. I also thought her name was really cool. I liked Natalie Springer, too. She seemed so sweet - I couldn't understand why no one seemed to like her!

Natalie was the dorky Mallory of the 2nd grade. So what if her socks were droopy and she snorted when she cried, she seemed like a nice girl.
Nancy seemed kinda snobby to me. Her fights with Karen always seemed to be over much lamer stuff than Hannie's fights with Karen. She wanted to be an actress too, so she was probably just as annoying as Karen but with a quieter voice.

I agree with you guys, Hannie sounded adorable and really fun. I love her pigtails and sometimes they'd draw these little freckles on her nose and cheeks that I thought were so cute. I also liked Nancy, she seemed really nice! I liked her in Karen's Baby (why the heck was that book called KAREN'S Baby?!). I guess I haven't read enough of the LS books to have a favorite besides Nancy and Hannie, though. I always wished the BSC babysat for them more often. I know they sat for Hannie occasionally, but I don't think they ever sat for Nancy.

^ I love the names of Hannie's pets, too I was thinking that I preferred Nancy to Hannie because Hannie made me mad in Karen's Haircut but sparklymouse may be right. This made me think that Nancy may be a bit more of a whiner. I think that Nancy's problems all come from feelings of being left out as this seems to be most of the fights involving her are about. Anyway, I guess I can't really distinguish between her and Hannie that much - strange, I know. I think other than Karen my favorite LS character is Seth. He seems like such a nice guy and great stepdad!

(why the heck was that book called KAREN'S Baby?!) I guess they wanted to keep with the theme of all the books being Karen's ...., but yeah, it does conjure up some weird mental images. Seven IS a bit young for that

Just reread Karen's Grandmothers, which I really like (I can relate to really wanting to do something and then deciding it isn't what I want as well as to feeling a little jelous when someone I'm close to pays attention to someone I've introduced him or her to). I thought it was hilarious how Nancy called Granny "Big Mama." For some reason, this reminded me of a cat - that or some large biker woman full of tattoos. So now I'm picturing "Biker Granny on the Farm" ;D

... I always wished the BSC babysat for them more often. I know they sat for Hannie occasionally, but I don't think they ever sat for Nancy. I remember a few mentions of the BSC sitting for Nancy and Danny, but I think they were only mentioned briefly. Someone would saying something in passing like "Stacey sat for Nancy Dawes, a classmate of Karen's" (or something), but we never got to read anything beyond that. At least, not in any of the BSC books I've read. I liked Hannie a lot as well, much more so than Nancy. I don't really know why, I just didn't like Nancy as much. And I loved Kristy in these books, she was so cool and pretty in my six-year-old mind.
