I always figured that the reason why Mrs. Pike was against Mallory getting sparkle clothes and out there clothes was because Mallory was expected to pass her clothes on. Like once Mallory outgrew something Vanessa would get it. Sparkle clothes doesn't exactly hold up well with time lol.
Is that a headcanon?
