Yeah, so they both be in the hospital at the same time.
I haven't read the fishing trip. (Another book to read.)

I reread this book last night for the fun part of the "animals everywhere," that decorated the children's playroom at the hospital. I still would have loved seeing a picture of the finished room. This book could have sort of been a LS super special in a way had we gotten to read more of the extra stories. By that I mean Andrew at the Big House for the week Karen was in the hospital. That could, of course, include Watson and everyone more live visiting Karen and making her "Get Well Quick" packages(like the kids did for Watson in Mr. Mom) and cards. Karen tells us Elizabeth, Kristy, Sam, and Charlie bring her toys and games from the Big House, I just would have enjoyed hearing more about their care. I know this doesn't have much to do with Karen being in the hospital but I do wonder if the KIMCC ever did hear back from the people they wrote to (who they each admired). At the beginning Andrew stays at Nancy's house which I am so glad worked out for them all. I love how Nancy invited Andrew to the secret snowball meeting still and can imagine her caring for him while they waited to hear how Karen was doing I also never realized Seth spent all day on Fix Up Playroom Friday at the Hospital working on the playroom; that was sure gigundoly nice of him! I did wonder if Watson ever visited Karen at the little house while she recuperated. I know he probably didn't but it would have been so sweet if he had or at least we got to hear of him calling. Oh and the curtains Lisa sewed sounded cute too with the monkeys and giraffes. That reminded me of Karen's School Trip about the Bedford Zoo.

I randomly picked the book about the Russian figure skater, haha! Irina Kozlova. I bet she did not "accidentally drink" her grandpa's heart medication! (I searched that name and found this story from December 2017: "A woman was stabbed 88 times by a man she was on a date with because she “laughed at him”, it has been reported. Irina Kozlova, 34, is said to have been told to drive to her favourite place, close her eyes and wait for a surprise by Evgeny Markov, who she had recently started dating." The rest of it was behind a paywall, but eek. Rip to that Irina Kozlova.) I think figure skaters actually did donate stuff back in the day because the top ones got a ton of stuff thrown onto the ice. They used to have little kids that would skate around and scoop up all of the presents in between competitors. Irina sent Karen the creepiest looking monkey that was the size of Andrew and was wearing clothes. 😲
Karen's injury sounded horrible! She fell out of a tree, onto her face, with a tree trunk up her stomach. Dang. I didn't like how Lisa didn't ever verbally address Karen's anxiety. She exchanged a lot of "looks" with Seth and made Karen walk around. Karen needed to talk through some stuff. (But then she got magically better on her own, so maybe not.)
She had a male nurse (named Brian) who also loved figure skating. Brian might be gay.
I liked how Hannie and Nancy showed up on the hospital lawn and shouted that Pamela Harding had scraped her knee.
Goosie looks super cute (and big) on the cover. He looks more like a cat shaped pillow than a stuffed animal.
Karen was going to ask her classmates to write a thank you note to Seth and Lisa for all of the work that they did. Seth made shelves (which included providing the wood). Lisa sewed curtains (also providing the fabric). I thought that was nice. The kids don't usually acknowledge the help that they get.

I'm really shocked that Lisa didn't call an ambulance for her own daughter after a big fall like that. She shouldn't have even moved Karen! She could have had a spinal injury.
