Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls is the second episode in the Netflix series. It is a loose adaption of the second book in series Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls. Please discuss this episode here!

This seems more deviation from book, though it's been quite some time since I read the book. The phantom phone calls wasn't a big plot and used more as metaphor.
Was Karen this creepy in books? Love Claudia and her fashion, the Ruth Bader Ginsberg outfit for maths test and her Birds Halloween costume. Mimi and her relationship very sweet. Also thought her and Trevor were quite cute.

Loved that they didn’t focus so much on the caller, but more of who Claudia is and her relationship with her family. Well done. I also loved that Karen isn’t as bratty, just...kind of creepy!

I love Claudia. Even her voiceovers were lively. Yes, please keep Karen all dark and creepy! Lol. I would crush on young Trevor, too. I would like to see more of Claudia's art in the future.

Creepy Karen holding the wake for her doll Krakatoa may now be my favourite Karen moment of all time.

The Claudia/Trevor interactions are SO cute! Richard is ridiculously on point. Claudia’s relationship with Mimi made me tear up a little. Also props to the showrunners for making Karen way less annoying than in the books.

I wish they had the mystery part in this one!

I'm really disappointed in this episode. I was really hoping for the mystery and Alan Gray to show up! I also really like the end where Janine and Claudia talk.

i also love what they've done with karen but kind of hate what they've done with janine, they made her into way more of a bully. also did anyone else notice claud's watermelon outfit?!

I noticed Claudia's watermelon outfit and pointed it out to my husband! He was watching the first few episodes with me but not paying 100% attention to them, so later when Claud was wearing her The Birds Halloween costume I was waiting and waiting for him to look at the screen because he's a movie buff and I knew he'd love it. He thought the costume was really funny when he finally saw it.
Yeah, Janine was a bully in this episode and in the first half of the Claudia and Mean Janine episode. At the end of Episode 05 she's more like the Janine we know and love.

I'm a little bummed we didn't get Alan Gray, but if we had, I would have wanted Kristy to say "No, i'm not going to a dance with someone who lurks in bushes and calls and hangs up." But I guess it also wouldn't make much sense, what with texting being the more standard way of communication these days.

This episode was okay. I liked how it had some things from the future books in it and also from Kristy’s great idea (the flashlight thing Kristy and Mary Anne have got mentioned here and got shown in the fight between them in the book version of Mary Anne saves the day). I was wondering if it was gonna show up til then since in the books it’s mentioned in #1 and in this it’s not mentioned in the first episode.)
I liked how the babysitters agency was mentioned as well.

I kind of would have preferred Alan in this ep because he’s in the entire run of the book series, but it makes sense that it would be Claudia’s love interest since it’s her ep.
Claudia is so adorable. Her whole family is. Karen should have been like this in the books, lol.
