Claudia and Mean Janine is the sixth episode in the Netflix Series, it is based off the seventh book of the same name. Please discuss this episode here!

I don’t think I can handle the death of TV Mimi. Lots of tears in this one. I hope they explore Claudia and Janine’s relationship more later on in the series.

I wish they hadn't been so strict with the length of each episode, I would have liked to have a few more scenes with Mimi pre-stroke.

I liked this more the second time that I watched it. Stacey giving Richard a makeover. Sam hanging out with the girls making get well cards. Claudia's candy art. I really don't like Janine and her oversized Harry Potter glasses.

Watching as I type this. I want the art judge's glasses. She gave me McKenzie Clarke vibes btw. "I know, I know, you hate (P)eaches." WHAT That was beautiful of Janine to comfort Claudia after Claudia told her Mimi loved her more than Janine. OMG Humpty Dumpty back on MA's wall! Loved that ending. I'm hooked

This one was a good episode. I thought the redecorating Mary Anne’s room though was being dragged on too long as in the books it was just in the 4th book where it first appeared and was solved in the same book.

Poor Janine! Claud sure took her bitchy pills in this one.
I can understand Claudia being frustrated with Janine for using big words or whatever, but how rude to introduce her as something that hatched from a pod in the compost heap. Totally unnecessary. And then saying that Mimi loved her more - right in front of Stacey!
The internment camp angle was well done, although now Mimi was born in the US. Hmmmmm. And she hates peaches! I wonder if Peaches and Russ are going to be in the series? Cause Claudia’s aunt 100% can’t be named peaches if Mimi has such a negative connotation of peaches. That doesn’t seem like it would work.
I wish this episode had been longer - we didn’t get to see Mimi’s recovery or blowing up at MA.
I also thought when Liz and Richard were doing dishes that Sharon was going to catch them and jump to some conclusions. It just seemed like it was set up for that to happen, but never did. Maybe I’m the only one who felt that.
I liked Claud’s drawing at the end, and the set up for Sea City - just like in the book.
I’m still torn on the Janine character. I don’t like her as much as book Janine. Book Janine seemed like she wanted to interact with her family, but was unsure how/expected to constantly be studying. This Janine seemed annoyed by her family trying to show affection. I liked that Janine was the one who was able to help Mimi, but I was looking forward to Claudia coming up with the blinking code. I also missed that Mimi was sort of the one who encouraged Claud to reach out to Janine.
