I couldn't add a poll in the same thread, so I've had to make a new one for the second book, maybe I can add them all to one folder or something later. I'm not sure.. Anyway, I couldn't find a graphic novel cover for this one, but I did find a few more international covers. Which ones do you like best? I'd have to go with the original, 1995 reprint, and ebook, however I do like the UK cover for this one, I think Claudia's earrings are great and the glow behind her and dark background ties in with the whole 'phantom' thing to me. I also think Claudia looks a lot like how I imagined her on the Italian cover.

OMG that Italian one. LOL. She looks like a bag lady, and that floating phone over her shoulder is cracking me up.
Again, I like the original. I think Claudia looks cute with her braid and sweater. The rotary phone is amazing. The notepad looks like a roll of toilet paper mounted on their kitchen wall.
ETA: Apparently they didn't release a graphic novel for this one. I didn't realize that they were skipping around with the releases for those. Who wouldn't like a spooky Halloween themed graphic novel?

I think I'll have to go ebook on this one, too. Claudia looks like herself, but it retains the original cover layout.

Who wouldn't like a spooky Halloween themed graphic novel? yeah, the floating phone is funny, so is the arrow connecting it Claudia's head and the creepy pumpkin face. I agree, the notebook and phone are great details and Claudia's sweater is great! Interesting, I wonder why they'd skip it. I haven't read any of the graphic novels, but I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't do one for all the books, although I think it would be an excellent story as a graphic novel!

I agree, I really like the original, but Claudia doesn't really look Japanese - she's supposed to have silky, jet black hair, not brown! I think the 1995 picture fits better with the book descriptions.

Also, the German cover layout makes me think a lot of the GirlTalk series layout.

Going to go with the e-book on this one, she looks Japanese and still retains the spirit of the original cover. Although the girl she's holding still looks kinda creepy. I do like the 1995 version too.

I agree about the German cover looking a bit like Girl Talk..I quite like it, although not as much as the original, it needs the title to be in blocks! The UK reprint cover is funny to me as it just doesn't make a lot of sense, all of the flowers and things are pretty, but seem a bit unrelated or something... I agree, Nancy, the kid on the reprint cover is funny, and definitely could be the mischievous culprit behind the calls! Also, her legs are very pink...is she wearing stockings? I hope so.

Is that solid blue one an American version? I've never seen that before. That is not a well laid out cover. There's so much text on the top, then the uncentered picture with the little girl's head going over the title text. Hmm. Lol, since they removed the kitchen background Claudia is holding a phone receiver connected to nothing.

I think these covers look like textbooks with the font and stuff. Hahah, yeah...I'd say the phone is the phantom on that one!

I have a question r.e. the 1995 reprint cover books. I have reprint cover copies of both Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls and Kristy's Great Idea, both of which don't include the scrapbook pages. The 1995 cover picture posted here has a little pink banner in the corner advertising the photos/notebook pages etc. my copy doesn't have this (I'll post a picture of each cover below for reference)Did some of the early versions of the reprints not include the scrapbooks or something? Also, does anyone have a copy of these two with the scrapbook pages? I'd love to see them, most of my books are the Original covers. Attachments:

I have the pink banner copy for Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls. My collection is a good mix of both covers, but I don't think I have any of the 1995 versions that doesn't include the scrapbook pages. Maybe you have a rare variant! As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures on here, I'll send you the scans of the scrapbook.

All of my 1995 reprint books have the banner except for there 2, but they are all really high numbers. I'm thinking maybe they didn't introduce the extra pages at the beginning of the reprint...but maybe it's just the Australian ones? Or maybe the person who originally had them was part of the Collectors Club so were some of the earliest people to get the reprint cover books before they added the scrapbook? I didn't have too much trouble posting pictures, there should be a little 'Add Attachment' Button at the top right, you can put up to 3 pictures per post. Although I had to screenshot mine then crop out the screen background because the actual pictures were too big to post.

I checked the wiki about the reprints, and the only post-1995 books without scrapbooks were Abby's first three. Your book is really interesting to me and I think it's definitely something to look into! Maybe you could make a post specifically asking someone if they know anything about the missing pages? And okay, thanks! I'll try to get them up today!
