^He really is. One of my favorite things about having become a fan of the LS books is getting to know Andrew better. I often feel so badly for him in BSC books because he's over-looked or quickly written out of a scene. In LS he has friends, separate from Karen even and is a much more "real" boy. I still wish he and Jamie had become friends because I do think they would have enjoyed playing together. Both sweet and fun little boys.

We know a lot of the parents were probably friends, and you'd think the Engles' house was likely nearer the Bradford Court neighborhood but not quite nearby....

The carnival idea started because the girls wanted to buy roller skates. Hannie had outgrown hers. She was made to look greedy for not wanting to switch to a park fundraiser, but I don't think that she was wrong. Karen had functioning skates that she just kept forgetting at her mom's house. Hannie couldn't skate anymore. At the end, they were at the new park, bored and wanting roller skates, lol.
I liked how Karen told Nancy about Hannie hanging up on her, so Karen was calling her Hatey Hannie. Nancy was like "That's not going to help."
The girls' parents gave them $10 each for carnival supplies. Watson: "You don't have to pay us back." Mr. Dawes: "It's our contribution to the playground." Lol, the millionaire chipped in $10 to his ex-wife's project.
Bobby randomly announced that his parents were volunteer firefighters. That's fun. I'd read more about that.
I find it highly unlikely that hundreds of volunteers built the park in 5 days.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the author/Arthur part! Her families also contributed to the cost by giving her ten dollars each.

The main highlight of this book is that Karen and Hannie got into a vicious catfight. It's wild that AMM had put this one of the Little Sister books.
The carnival itself is a bit of a downer. I wished that Karen, Hanne and Nancy had gotten their roller skates. On the bright side though, at least they got a brand new playground to play on.
