I loved the story about the garden. It seemed that the garden had secrets of it's own.

Really cute book! Some parts reminded me of other books...Karen and Diana sleeping on the porch (Karen and Tia sleeping in hammocks in Karen's Plane Trip), exploring the attic, the Maine setting (Baby-sitters' Haunted House), the diary reading (Kristy and the Haunted Mansion), and the memory boxes containing the lockets (Kristy finding Christina's locket in Missing Fortune). I quite enjoyed the Annemarie/Polly story and how it made you wonder about what was in store for Karen and Diana. Great cover too. I haven't read this one, although I do own it. Where does Diana's family live? If they live kind of far away, it wouldn't be so unusual for Karen not to have met her before. They live in Pennsylvania.

I also loved the plot and the cover as well. I didn't know Lisa was from Maine. Diana kind of remined me of Karen herself! ;D I don't really have a lot to say about this book, just that I was re-reading it recently and I think it's probably one of my favorites. I love the plot...it's so much more interesting than most of them. I also love how Karen and Diana solve a real mystery (well...sort of) as opposed to trying to figure out....who forgot to put the cap back on the toothpaste or who ate the last cookie or something like that.

This was in my top 5 LS books, I read my copy just about to death. I have first cousins I didn't meet until I was about 12, so that never struck me as weird. I liked Diana, I loved all the family activities, and I thought it was so cute how they made their own memory boxes. I was kind of confused by one of the illustrations at the end, though, when Karen and Diana are meant to be hugging but they're just kind of holding each other at arm's length.

I liked reading about Annemarie and Polly as well as reading about Diana and the family activities.

I loooove this book. I love the idea of a magic garden granting wishes. I also loved how Karen and her cousins slept outside on the veranda. Finally, I love how this book takes place in Maine.

I just reread and still like it a lot. The house sounded very cozy. Re: Lisa being from Maine, I kept thinking of "Skylark" (sequel to "Sarah, Plain and Tall") when Sarah takes Anna and Caleb back to her home state of Maine

At least all of the pot would make Karen use her indoor voice, hehe

I like this book a lot! It isn't as chaotic as other LS books. I enjoyed the fact that Karen wasn't bratty in this book.

OMG, that would be gigundoly awesome if Karen grew pot and sold it as an extra alongside her fortune telling! She is the ultimate hippie of stoneybrook
She could also sell vegetables from her dad's backyard and hide the pot in the boxes and cartons!

Again, I loved the idea of sleeping outside on a covered porch, listening to the ocean as you fall asleep. But then I realized Karen mentions three extra spare rooms while searching for the attic. So it makes me wonder why the kid were put outside when there was room for them elsewhere, haha.
