I just read this one and really liked it. Charlie was great and it was so funny how he made the huge mascot that got stolen and then he stole it back. I also laughed when the kids just stepped over Emily while she was pitching the huge fit but admit this made me very glad to be an only child ;D It was cute how Karen worked with Charlie to figure out who had stolen "Frankenstone". Of course, I enjoy any book that has to do with Halloween, anyway.

What was going on with Emily? I never read the book, but I was reading parts of it from Amazon.com and I remember a part where David Michael was telling Karen that Emily actually bit Watson?!

I love this book! It is one of my favorite LS Halloween books! I thought it was so cute how Karen helped Charlie look for clues as well. I liked the relationship between them in this book a lot.
This was the book that Emily threw temper tantrums because she wanted to go to school too right? Or am I getting that mixed up with another book?

^ That was the one, Msstock. And yes, I think she did bite Watson. She screamed and yelled a lot and threw herself on the floor at one point when the kids were all leaving for school and they just stepped over her. I thought that was kind of funny ;D

I thought it was kind of funny too. I thought the idea of the playgroup idea was really cute too.

Just read this one and really liked it. I also found it funny how they just stepped over Emily ;D and also really liked Charlie and Karen's relationship. Well, I just like any book in general which features all the kids together, and this one did I felt really bad for Nancy, though, and Ms. Colman loses points in my book for making Nancy read aloud, even though she was scared. I really feel for her because while I do read a lot in my church, I get sick to my stomach because I'm so anxious and nervous. Though I think I was 'braver' when I was her age than I am now! I know that Ms. Colman was only trying to get her to do it because she thought it would be helpful, and I guess she's right, I just still felt really bad for Nancy - she's only 7!

I forget why Nancy was so afraid. She always wanted to be an actress. Did she suddenly come up with stage fright?

^ Good point! I completely forgot about how she wanted to be an actress!
Well, the reasoning was all vague. Karen was like 'why are you scared? You've been on stage before" and Nancy said, "Well, I just am now" or something along those lines.

Yeah I felt bad for Nancy as well. I used to think some teachers used to make students read out loud to make them more embarrassed. I hated having to read a loud.

Yes, I hated having to read out loud too! Karen's monsters was my least favorite, but it did have some funny moments.

I like how Karen helped Charlie look for clues and how she helped him figure out where Frankenstone was.
