I'm reading this one right now. It's cute. Karen is bored one day and decides to write a book about her life. I couldn't help laughing at the part where she is describing when she is born. Watson and Lisa are so formal with each other! (And, of course, no contractions) For example:
Watson: Good morning, Lisa. How are you? Lisa: I am fine, thank you. Watson: And how is Baby this morning? (Lisa is still pregnant with Karen) Lisa: Baby is fine, thank you. Watson: Would you like me to make breakfast for the two of you? Lisa: That would be wonderful, thank you!
Well, that's not the exact text, but you get the idea. ;D I never really realized before how the lack of contractions make everyone sound so funny. I still haven't finished the book yet, I'm kind of disappointed in the lack of talk about the divorce.

I really liked this book and enjoyed reading about Karen's early life and how she met Nancy and Hannie and dealt with the divorce.

I read this one yesterday. I liked how we see Kristy's first sitting job for Karen and Andrew from Karen's POV. Karen was a flower girl at both of her parents' weddings, and also for Ms. Colman? That's a lot of times to be a flower girl. I think my favorite part was when Andrew spilled grape jelly on Boo-Boo's tail and Boo-Boo was so disturbed he started running all over and making a huge mess.

I only got to be a flower girl once at my dad's cousin's wedding when I was five and I barely remember it . I also am disappointed in the lack of divorce talk. I thought maybe we would've gotten to read about Lisa and Watson fighting at least once; like a chapter where Karen overhears the two of them fighting in the living room or something if for no other reason than to keep the storyline flowing. Because when you're reading it, everything seems okay with the family and then boom! Divorce. Nothing leading up to it, just the divorce. And it makes no sense.

^I agree. I actually went back to see if I missed something Karen said about the divorce when I read, but nope.

^That's talked about in one of the LS books. It's about how they want a custody change or something. I used to have all of the books but my mom made me get rid of them.

^That's in Karen's Two Families, but that's a long time after the divorce. I think the majority of us in this thread were disappointed that the divorce was not talked about when Karen was writing her book in Karen's Book.

^Lisa probably got sick of going bird bath shopping on the weekends. Since Karen was only 4-5 she most likely doesn't even know why her parents got divorced. Which isn't such a bad thing.

At least it's clear that the divorce was friendly one.
