Who would become wealthy in her own right, earning millions, maybe even billions in adulthood?

I don't know who I'd choose but I love the idea of Abby as a successful civil rights lawyer! I haven't read many of the later books. Does Abby show an interest in being a lawyer?

Abby never showed an interest in school at all. I can't see her spending all that extra time in classes myself (law school is about eight years).

My brother was never academically inclined and never went to college. Another friend of mine loved it and went on to be a teacher. I just remember Abby buying those test answers by mistake though and her saying that she didn't like math or something lol.

You’re right, Abby was a terrible student. She may have turned it around later if she became passionate about something. I can see her as a physical therapist.

I can see her doing something with sports, that’s what she was the most passionate about. I think she even mentions how she gets up early and runs five miles every morning. Physical therapy would be a good option for her!

That's kind of disappointing I think it's the kind of thing that can change with age and maturity though. Sometimes, people do change with maturity and age. I have a close friend who didn't care much for school. In grammar and middle school, she rarely studied and just barely scraped by. But late in her high school years, she found a spark in certain sciences, became interested and studied harder. She ended up winning a full university scholarship, studied hard throughout uni and today is a successful scientist who makes an excellent income. In eighth grade, you never could have predicted she'd become a scientist. But physical therapy is a good option for Abby if she still had zero interest in law by her senior year of high school. She could become wealthy owning a successful physical therapy clinic.

Maybe it’s just me but I can’t see any of this as viable options and half of these can’t make you a millionaire. I mean to be the next JK Rowling, you need to have luck and in some cases be able to detect treads which Mallory doesn’t seem to have. It takes at least a decade to publish a book unless you have an in and in today’s world self publishing can’t make you as much money.
Ballerinas as much as they love their craft also don’t make a lot of money either.
As mentioned before Abby didn’t like school and I was under the impression dawn didn’t either to spend all that time in school. Claudia never liked school that much either to start up her own business.
I can’t see Stacey in any of those fields much at all. An engineer maybe, she mentions she wants to own a store a couple of times I think.
Mary Anne and Kristy is possible, but I don’t picture Kristy in that particular field myself. Also Mary Anne would make more money with her doctorate degree and be a psychiatrist.
Sorry if this sounds pessimistic, I’m just thinking realistically and none of these options seem to really fit them (to me at least).

Sorry if this sounds pessimistic, I’m just thinking realistically and none of these options seem to really fit them - to me at least. Glad you see Mary Anne making a great salary and getting a doctorate. 😊😊😊 True, it is hard to make millions off writing, art or dancing. I think Mallory did admit once that she didn't expect writing to make her wealthy. She probably would take a magazine or editing job or at a publishers' office to make her main salary. Kristy I definitely see owning her own business instead of spending her life working for others. She's fiercely independent and would make a great CEO of her own corporation. Claudia I also see her being self-employed also...I can't see her working a conventional nine to five job all her life. It may take them a few years and they might not necessarily make millions for a couple of decades, but I do see their businesses becoming highly successful, eventually bringing them at least a six-figure income. Stacey I definitely see her going into any of the math fields...she was always excellent at math. She could very well become an accountant. Who knows...she could wind up doing the accounting for a stage and/or broadway production company. Abby, while not the most diligent student, often has a keen sense of justice like the others and strong feminist beliefs. Even if she doesn't have the patience to sit through years of law school, she could very well end up working for the Civil Liberties Union, the National Organization for Women or the EEOC in another capacity. But also, she could end up coaching several girls' soccer/baseball teams and fighting for equality for girls' athletics. ♀♀♀♀😁😁😁😁

The only sitters I can see becoming millionaires after they reach adulthood is Jessi and Logan: Jessi through ballet and the dance world in general and Logan in professional sports.

I don't see Logan becoming a millionaire...Jessi possibly.
The main ones I see becoming millionaires in my estimation are Kristy and Claudia.
Kristy definitely has the drive, ambition and high energy to create, lead and sustain a large international corporation.
The others I do see each making a comfortable enough income to support themselves and any family they have.
