I'm actually called by my middle name rather than my first name. (Do not do this to your children. There is no reason to. It is annoying.) But my first name is Janet.

i think anne, elizabeth, and marie are the most common. amanda also seems to a common middle name. agree, but I'd add "lynn" to the equation as well. Speaking of Marie, It was kind of funny recently because one of my SIL's middle name is "Marie" She has two boys and no girls. My other SIL had a baby girl recently and gave her the same name that the 1rst SIL has (first and middle, but interestingly enough she wasn't named after her) anyway, the 1rst SIL was apparently upset because she wanted the middle name "Marie" for her daughter if she ever had one. It's not like it's not one of the most common middle names EVER or anything like that...

I don't understand why parents don't give their children cool middle names. I have always disliked my middle name because it's so common and boring to me. I only have a middle name, since my mom is Belarusian and they have patronymics instead, because my first name is not the name of a saint, which is required in the orthodox church. so my middle name is really like, my jesus name or something. but i hate it. i should have gotten a really cool and weird saint name.

I actually like my middle name, Nicole. I actually am considering it for a name if I ever have a daughter.

I used to hate my middle name because my aunt would call me by my first and middle names to express shock or scold me (she is very annoying anyway) so I came to associate it with that. Now I like it, though, and use it all the time instead of just my initial, which is the same as my mom's and she uses her initial only so that might be why I don't like doing that.

I totally agree. I'm planning on usind some crazy-awesome middle names for my kids someday. My nephew has a "normal" first name, but his midle name is "Valiant" which I think is awesome.

^lol agreed.
My sisters mn is Nicole too, msstock. I think that's a cute name.
I never really gave my mn much thought (its not like you use it a lot) other than thinking about how common it is... but I don't really care.

Forgetting that I'd posted earlier, when I looked at the title of this thread I thought, "wow, they were really running out of ideas by the end of the series, weren't they?" Growing up I hated my middle name with a passion - Jane. Now I don't mind it, as it goes pretty well with my first name.

^ Isn't Ms. Colman's baby's name Jane? And Ann's sister now that I think of it. Never made that connection.....
