^ Isn't Ms. Colman's baby's name Jane? And Ann's sister now that I think of it. Never made that connection..... Also, Nancy Dawes's middle name is Jane, and so is Lucy Newton's.

I only have a middle name, since my mom is Belarusian and they have patronymics instead, because my first name is not the name of a saint, which is required in the orthodox church. so my middle name is really like, my jesus name or something. but i hate it. i should have gotten a really cool and weird saint name. Remember when Anastasia wanted to be Anastasia Perpetua Krupnik?

Yes, it was too bad that her paper bag had a hole in it so she couldn't use it to carry her dispensation

And she asks her mom to buy a wedding dress small enough to fit her?

I technically have two middle names: Mary-Elizabeth. When I went for my confirmation, everyone else got to pick a confirmation name/saint , and I had to pick on that already existed so it would fit neatly on the program. That made me sad, because there are much cooler saints then Mary or Elizabeth.... Could you imagine if Karen got two middle names?

I was one of the only people in my confirmation class who picked a name (I guess it's not required anymore or something) can you believe it? I thought "The name this is the whole reason why I really want to do this in the first place!" I picked Ceceila and still tell people my name is Kathryn Ann Cecelia maidenname-married name.

It's a bummer that Karen had no middle name. I think she'd be really into monogrammed stuff. Which I guess she could still do with just KB, but it's not as fancy looking and you know she loves fancy girly stuff.

I think "Why didn't Karen have a middle name?" would be a good question to ask Ann on her site in the "Ask Ann" section...she typically answers easy, simple questions like that. Of course, her answer would probably be "That's a good question. I don't know why!" or something equally uninformative

Maybe we would get lucky, and she would say something like "she does! didn't I ever mention it? Well it's Matthews." or something equally lame, like "Jane". Oh, it's so Jane.

My middle name is Layne and I love it I want to call my little girl Layne or maybe use it as a middle name. It kind of irritates me that it has now become a boys name though

I don't see why parents bother to give their kids middle names unless they intend to use them. I use my middle initial now for banking and credit cards and stuff, but that's it. My friends and I had a "what's your middle name?" conversation in 6th grade, and one of the girls didn't know how to spell her middle name. (It was Antoinette, I think.) She was like "What? It's not like I ever use it."

^ I like the name Antoinette but would hate having to spell it as a kid. ;D My grandma never spelled her middle name - Jacoline - correctly until she got her birth certificate as an adult. I like middle names, just because I like picking names for kids. ;D
