^I prefer picking out names for pets. I mean, my cat won't be offended when I call her "Miss Tinkerbell Squishface," whereas a child might resent me a bit. Also, pets can have cool names like (my other cat) "Sgt Pepper's Loney Hearts Club Cat," "Dusty Fantasticface,"(a cairn terrior) "John" and "Yoko," (Lizards) "Kartoon the Magical" (a horse), "Tiger" (a snake), "Pumpkin Head" (another cat), "iMac" (lop-eared trained rabbit), and countless fish named after celebrities. Oh, and I briefly had a kitten named Stephen Colbert Jr. (Colby).
Where as for children... I don't know. I tend to favor things that are relatively traditional. When I name my Sims, I name them after all sorts of things -- characters in books, movies, celebrities, fruit, plants, planets. For some reason, I can't imagine any real human growing up with my names.

^ I have never actually named a child. ;D Just like thinking of names for them. Pet names are always fun, too, but our pet names usually never last for long before every cat is "blackie" or "Tiger" or "Buddy" or whatever. ;D

^Hehe my mom has always tended to name her cats after their color. Or, just "Kitty" or "Miss Kitty."

My cousin had a cat that she named Snoop Catty Cat around the time that Snoop Dogg first became popular.

I bet AMM would give Karen a really common name for her middle name, although she did get creative for Dawn and Jessi's middle names. I always saw Karen as having something like Marie, Elizabeth, or Lynn as everyone has already mentioned, as her middle name. It just flows with her name. My biological mother named me Cherish Melody-Ann so I had two middle names at one time. My adoptive parents took Cherish and put it as my middle name. I have always liked it and always write my whole name out.

My dad has this thing where the animal will tell you what their name is Lol......... had two cats, Mork and Mindy, Mork died, Mindy became Scoot...and later Skittle Boots (at leaset she was still a kitten when all this happened) Had another cat named Wompus. I dont know about the animals naming themselves, but all I know is that my cat Hermione responded when I looked at her and just said "Hermione" when I was trying to think up names for her. She liked it

^ That is probably true about Jessi's middle name. A lot of people seem to do that. My parents renamed me Sara and dropped Melody-Ann otherwise I would have had a REALLY long name. I am glad there are so many other people who still enjoy reading and talking about these books. I was starting to think I was really weird.

^ I always like having a few different choices to write for my names and alternate between them. ;D You're definitely not weird or alone. ;D

It's weird that Karen has no middle name, because Andrew did (Edward). I'm surprised that after all these books, NONE of the ghostwriters ever had Elizabeth or Watson or someone call Karen by her full name when she was in trouble...
I use my full name most of the time, because I don't much like my first name, but I like it with my middle name (which is a name that I love).

^ What book was Andrew's middle name metioned in? I also use my middle name a lot because people always assume I'm a guy because of my first name (who knows why because even though it's rare, it sounds like a girl's name to me ;D) but my middle is definitely a girl's name.

Karen's School. She asks Andrew who he is so she can make him a nametag, and he says "Andrew Edward Brewer."

I read Karen's Haircut recently and she picked some really out there middle names. She never mentioned not having a real middle name, but it seems like something she'd be ticked off about. Anyway, if Karen had her way her name would be Tiffanie Titania (? is that a real name?), Krystal Karlotta, or Chantal Chantilly.
