Titania is a real name. It's Shakespearian, I think from A Midsummer Night's Dream. No idea where Karen would have heard it though.
I really loved the names Crystal and Tiffany when I was Karen's age. And Oprah. We never even watched the show in my house, so I don't know where I got that name from.

^I like the name Marion. I think it is pretty and not many people have it as a middle name. Very unique!

^ I like it too because it reminds me of Raiders of the Lost Arc - my favorite movie ;D - and Karen Allen. ;D

I, also, have this thing where I am totally interested in learning people's middle names. Well, of the people I know, I couldnt care less about some stranger on the street. Me too. I guess because I have a pretty common middle name.

^ my freshman year of high school i went around asking people their middle names Lol. I was a goofball...seriously. Look back now and I can't believe how "goofy" i was. (I was a freshman though so i could get away with it with my 'older' friends Lol. Anyway, the purpose was to find out who had my middle name, since my first name is so uncommon, it's nice to be able to share SOME sort of name with somebody else!

^I think my favorite part of high school graduation was finding out everyone's middle names on the program handout. Unfortunately nobody had really unusual middle names.

Yeah, I'll probably get a real kick out of that when I graduate from high school in June because I got a kick out of it during 8th grade graduation ;D.

After reading Karen's Book I can safely say that Karen really has no middle name. Watson and Lisa picked the name Karen from their list of Karen, Arlene, Joanna, Bethany, Katherine, and Erica. I think any of those names would work for Karen's character except Arlene. I hear that name and think of Garfield the cat's girlfriend.

Marion with an "o" is a man's name; Marian with an "a" is a woman's...originally.

I could see Karen as a Bethany or Katherine. The rest, not so much. They're all cute picks.

It's hard to imagine a 7 year old Arlene. By the same token, I expect that in 1986 it would have been hard to imagine 7yo Emmas and Olivias, which are so common today.

I like the names Emma and Olivia, but I always thought Olivia was more of an "old-fashioned" name.

^ That was my point. They're in fashion these days though.
Also, Karen might have thought she'd made up "Titania" even though it was a real name.
