What do you think are some of the worst looks she pulled together? The description from book 58 for her dads work dinner sounded fine, but terrible for a dinner party.

It was way too casual for a dinner party! It sounded like something she'd wear to the mall or on a date or something.
As for worst Stacey outfit, there's one in Kristy and the Mother's Day Surprise where she wears pink jellies with lacy white anklet socks. Like I know it was the early 90s but it sounds like something a little girl would wear and not Miss Sophistication.

Agreed, but if I found pink jellies in my size I would definitely wear them.
There's a description in one of the early books of a grey sweat outfit with 10s all over them. It always sounded like too-big workout wear instead of something fashion forward.

I didn't wear lacy anklets past the age of maybe 8. The sweatshirt was from Kristy's Great Idea! Going by other comments I've seen here, I have to agree that Stacey dressed more....fun teenager in the early books with all her 80s fashion. As we got to the later books, she went more sophisticated/I shop at Banana Republic.

Jelly shoes aren't very comfy. Maybe she needed the socks to be able to wear them. There was a bit of a sexy school girl trend in the 90s where little lacy socks and Mary Janes were popular.

I used to work at Justice and this is true. It was always the younger girls who wanted the sassy clothes with all the extras. Once they aged out of our sizes, they just wanted to dress in classy basics. It makes sense Stacey would go through this same evolution in her style.
