Which do you think is the scarier being? Discuss your decision.

I'm gonna go with clown for now, just because I remember there's the Clown Motel that I want to visit. There's a painting of a clown on a wall in most (if not all) rooms and to see it during the night, in the dark, would be frightening. It doesn't help that there's supposed to be a clown ghost haunting the location.

Hmm, I'm leaning towards scarecrow. They are not called Laughingcrows. Cornfields are creepy. Cornfields at night are extra creepy. Having what looks like a dead man strapped to a post in the middle of a dark cornfield is EXTREMELY creepy.
(That said, I've been wanting to do a corn maze recently. Lol.)

between the two maybe clowns? I've been lost in a cornfield before and it wasn't that scary (but then again it was during the day).

^It’s called Children of the Corn, not Children of the Clowns. 😂 I grew up with a cornfield right next to my house, so they aren’t scary in general. When you start driving down a country road and see nothing but corn on both sides of you for miles and miles then it gets weird.

^ I fail to understand how Children of the Clowns is better.

Scarecrows are scarier. Clowns are regular people wearing makeup. Scarecrows look like corpses strung up as a warning.

Okay, y’all described it well. That does sound scarier. Maybe it’s the forced happiness of clowns that freaks me out.

Scarecrows are scarier. Clowns are regular people wearing makeup. Scarecrows look like corpses strung up as a warning. The fact that a person's face is covered in make up is a reason some people are scared of clowns; they can't see the person's natural face, it's all covered up. That's also a reason why some people are scared of people in masks.

Scarecrows have burlap sacks over their heads, so you can't even see their faces. I love this passionate debate. I was not expecting responses.

^ That's how I felt when I got so many answers to my Monopoly question in Question of the Day. I expected one answer or two but there were so many responses.

It's like that scene in HIMYM where their most intense argument was if ducks or rabbits are better Obviously there is a spectrum of scariness. If I had to fight either Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz or Cillian Murphy in Batman Begins, that's an easy choice. But the average scarecrow is scarier than the average clown.
