What did they do to Mallory? I mean she's the oldest of 8, she's likely better then some of the other girls when it comes to sitting.

"Post apocalyptic horse story, choose your own adventure horse story" Lol, I want to read these.
Is Janine a lesbian? Is that what they were hinting at?
I kind of liked their club dues plan!

I think Mallory is very capable and probably more so than the others but overthinks and analyses everything. This makes her nervous and she desperately wants to fit in and be a grown up, plus she’s only 11 and still finding her place in the world. It was nice to see lots of Mallory even though she didn’t have her own episode. It reminded me of Claudia and Mallory doing the art course in New York together and how they were both so different in their creativity. Definitely a different Ashley to the book.

I was confused why Ashley Wyeth wasn't that all that interested in Claudia, and then I realized that Mallory was the new girl. They took what I expected and did something totally different with the same pieces, and it was done so well. I loved seeing the growing pains from Claudia's perspective instead of Mallory's.
They should have brought back the soy sauce comment.

I did not catch that Mallory was the new girl at all. Lol. Good job, show.
Ashley was lovely.

I am a bit half half with this episode, because if I hadn't read the baby sitters club and the book this episode is based on I would love it, so I like the episode itself, however part of inner child me is disappointed because I remember reading this book constantly and really wishing there was a tv episode of it, so when I read the episode title I was very excited. Unfortunately I ended up a bit disappointed that the episode plot and Ashley is nothing like the books, and while yes I do like Ashley in this as her own character, I feel she should of been an entirely different person.
TLR-I really liked this episode as it's own thing, but inner child me is a disappointed with how different it is to the book

Most of what I wanted to say has already been said. I liked Ashley's adaption.
Did anyone notice that Claudia is the individualist now instead of Dawn?
My only nitpick is that I wish Mallory was a bit more responsible, I get that she was excited to talk to Claudia, but still :/.

Right? I can't imagine going into someone's house and eating their pizza. In my family, eating someone else's food was an act of war.

I realised about halfway through that Mallory was the new girl. I like Mallory a lot in this. She's a lot more interesting than the Mallorys in the old show and movie.
Vanessa was funny with how awed she was at Claudia coming to visit. But surely Claudia has baby-sat for them many times?
Was it ever in the books that Kristy was sick and Dawn took over as president? I'm sure it did happen but can't recall where.
I'm curious to see where they go with Janine and Ashley ...

I liked the Mallory in this episode too, even though this wasn't how she acted in the books. If fits her personality and she was a new sitter. I did not see a Claudia-Mallory connection-conflict coming! I guess it did happen in the New York book but I don't remember it happening otherwise. I think this is the most we've seen of Mallory including the original TV show.

i liked what they did with ashley's character a lot here. i did not like how after school special-y some of the scenes were, particularly when kristy comes back after being sick and there's a whole scene praising how dawn ran the club--like, the lines themselves were so corny and it was hard to take seriously. i generally like this reboot a lot but honestly i feel like the writers want so badly for us to know that this show is progressive, which is nice and all, but a lot of the times it comes off as pretty hackneyed. am i insane?
