She was 12. I know it for sure because she was having trouble using her library card; I brought up her record to check her card status and saw her age there.

why didn't karen let nancy borrow rocky so she could be in the club?
and how come the fun club never continued although it was mentioned briefly in karen's school picture (I think that's where it was)
I think the club should have been about teaching them tricks, letting them play, taking cute pics of the cats and stuff like that

I doubt Seth would drive Rocky over to the Big House to hang out for an hour or so. Even he's not that cool. Karen probably got bored with the Fun Club like she did with everything else. It didn't sound like much fun anyway. Why should Lisa have to deal with a bunch of kids who weren't even really Karen's friends in her house every week?

Best two lines in the book: "Amanda is nice, but sometimes she talks about Priscilla too much. She's forever saying that Priscilla cost four hundred dollars."

I found this funny because it's true! How often did Karen even play with any of those girls besides Hannie and Nancy?

That's true, who the hell were those girls? Definitely not from Ms. Colman's class.
And Rocky could have gotten a ride with Nancy, but then again the cat owners only rule was stupid.

Haha those were my favorite lines too! ;D Oh and I had the same reaction when I read about the other girls at the "Fun Club". I was like, who the hell are they? They could've at least used people we knew from Ms. Colman's class like Audrey Green or Terri and Tammy Barkan but no, they had to pick 3-4 random girls with random names who Karen never played with before (as far as we know) and most likely never played with again.

I guess the series was still being developed and there was no focus on ms. colman's class yet. The books were mostly based on big house weekends in the beginning.

I can't imagine why Hannie and Amanda's parents would let them drag the cats over to a strange house. I can't even imagine that the cats would let them take them to the Big House. I mean, my cat's flip out if I take them past the sidewalk. They squirm and claw (the one with claws) and bite until they get dropped then they race back to their "comfort zone". They also would NOT be happy to be around strange cats. Cats are very territorial.

A kittycat club seemed like fun. I don't think the kittycat club was mentioned again after this story.

I think the Fun Club is mentioned in #10.

Karen's Kittycat Club was one of my favorites. Karen was mean to Nancy when she wouldn't let her join the club because Nancy didn't own a cat. How mean!

I laughed at the names Mrs. Werner called the girls: Katie Bower, Hannah Papaddy and Amelia Delaine.
