Who had the biggest food issues?

This may be a triggering subject for some. Feel free to back out of the thread now.

There were a lot of underlining food issues among this group of young girls. Claudia was addicted to junk food. Kristy had an immature attitude towards fairly average "healthier" foods. Stacey had to monitor everything that she ate. Dawn started restricting her diet to the point that she might not have even been healthy. Mallory was described as "sturdy" which would imply holding extra weight. Jessi "had to" watch what she ate because she was a dancer. Mary Anne may have been the only one to fly under the radar.

Who, if anyone, do you think had the most potential to develop more serious problems?

I rewatched season one and had this thought. Kristy saw Stacey turning down junk food and thought it might be disordered eating and therefore Stacey would be a bad role model. Just for the crime of not eating gummy bears or whatever one time.

I also remember one book where Mary Anne and Jessi split a meal because "Mary Anne eats like a bird". Does anyone remember which book that was?

There was almost no discussion of food as fuel, except in the book with Jessi's ballet friend and the eating disorder. Food was more often a temptation or vice.

Bummer, I don't remember that line about Mary Anne.

I think Dawn probably needed to be educated a little to make sure that she was getting everything that she needed in her diet. Kind of like how people who go vegetarian can struggle at first with getting enough protein through other foods.

Kristy did not eat foods that didn't give her pleasure. That's got to catch up with her some day.

My thoughts immediately went to Claudia. I know in one book she mentions
that she cleans her dinner plate (she eats her veggies) but the extra
food is definitely going to catch up to her.

I never noticed that about Kristy and Mary Anne! I thought Dawn was pretty healthy although now I wonder how she got her protein and other nutrients that meat offered.

Out of all the girls Abby is probably the healthiest - she snacked on the "Dawn" food at meetings and likely had a balanced meal at home. I think Shannon and Logan have as well.

Agree about Abby being the healthiest. She's an athlete with health issues so we know good health is a priority. Her mom was a chef and Abby was home alone often, so I definitely believe she knows how to cook.
