No season 3 unfortunately. I guess it's for the best. I feel like every season would get a little weaker. The Baby Parade episode was a good ending.

Baby parade was a great ending, too bad the book never lived up to that level lol. Probably should have seen it coming, Scholastic would have never let them enter high school and the girls were looking older.

The girls are definitely older now. If you look at their Instagrams then a lot of them are driving now. Sophie Grace in particular posts a lot heavy eye makeup/belly shirt/questionable eye contact pics. (She has the smallest waist I have ever seen. I would be showing that off, too.) She posted a bikini mirror selfie, and I was like "KRISTY NO STOP IT."

Sad to hear that it’s over but it makes sense. Do you think that Covid messed it up overall like it has with other shows? Some good shows didn’t even get a season 2. They would have had more time to really make it great and they wouldn’t have run out of time so quickly with the girls growing up if Covid hadn’t happened perhaps. It seemed like there was a delay between the seasons. It was sitting in the top 10 for awhile and seemed to have good reviews. At least we have the books!

I think Covid did mess it up. They weren't renewed right away to begin with, and then there were 15 months between season release dates. It messed up Xochitl Gomez's schedule and she had to drop out of season two. It got terrific reviews and 7? Emmy nominations. I feel like season 2 wasn't hyped up as much and just kind of fizzled out. Even on here I don't think people checked in or talked about it as much as with season 1.

It just dragged on too long between releases. I was reading an article about Netflix not renewing that many shows for 3rd seasons as it becomes more and more costly each season. There wasn’t as much hype like you said. So difficult to hype up much of anything during Covid. As much as I enjoyed season 2, I wasn’t overly happy with some of the episode choices but they still did a fine job in character development.

Dang. I am really bummed to hear this. Baby Parade was a huge note to go out on, but I wish it wasn't the end.
I'm happy for all the young actors who got a boost from the show and I will be excited to see what they do next. It will be hard to imagine them as any other characters - I went to Sophie Grace's instagram since sparklymouse mentioned it and it was so unlike Kristy, haha.
[editing because the censors got me. Apparently a four letter word found in the bible is too obscene for this forum]

Interview with the show runner about the cancellation. She sounds disappointed and a bit confused about what Netflix wanted. I don't want to quote too much of the article, but these were a few interesting parts for me:

They already did a super special in the camp two-parter. We also got pieces of other super specials - going forward I would say Starring the BSC, Sea City, and Here Come the Bridesmaids are too similar to things we already got.
If we had to end the series on a super special, I would want it in Stoneybrook. I would love to see BSC Remembers on screen but it would be a nightmare trying to cast younger versions of everyone.

I’m probably thinking specifically of Snowbound. Would have loved to have seen all of that on screen.

Stacey and her Mum stuck in the car would have been scary. Oh well. Still very sad and disappointed it was cancelled. You can tell so much work went into it.

I would have liked to see Dawn in Cali, but the way that they snuffed Jeff out of the picture made it less necessary.
There would have been way too many extras needed for the winter vacation.

The super special with the smallest cast and fewest sets would probably be Island Adventure. It's also the super special I would be least excited to watch.

I completely forgot about Island Adventure. I'm picturing really bad special effects with a green screen while they filmed it on some Canadian sound stage. Lol.
