If I would introduce Abby and Anna before #89,I would introduce them in small parts in the #70's.

I'd introduce her around book 60 so she becomes one of the secondary character who finally joins the club when Dawn moves away in 67.

Abby's character works because she's so different from the others and she's already in the club before people get to know her. If they introduced her earlier, they would have needed to make her a club member right away. Maybe she could have been Mallory's replacement during the mono period. We could have avoided the Wendy situation and seen more Dawn/Abby interaction because they are such opposites.
