I can't remember if Ms Colman gets sick also? I thought it was nice that Watson went on the trip

I just got finished reading this book. I have most of the bsls ebooks now and I don't know which to read first! lol. I loved Karen's School Trip personally and felt bad for Jannie because she was too sick to go.

Would Ann be castigated nowadays for Karen's comment about handekerchieves? Just thinking! To me, a daddy carries a handkerchief. I even used that idea to tell my DH when we were expecting our first child!

^Was it that Lisa didn't like to wash them, so no one at the little house used one? My dad always carried a handkerchief, so I associate them with fathers as well. I remember many times him giving it to me to use...since I was so used to Kleenex, I often didn't want to "disturb" his nice handkerchief

I don't know anyone who carries a handkerchief. It seems very gross to honk your nose on something and then shove it back into your pocket. (Although, yeah I guess I do that with kleenex sometimes.) I think my mom used to have some dressy clothes with decorative handkerchiefs in the pockets, but I forgive her because it was the 80s.

I was just thinking about this book today. It's one of the cuter ones, I think. Karen doesn't fight with anyone and doesn't act bratty, she's just a normal kid who's excited about going to the zoo with her class. I liked the little paragraph at the beginning saying that she loves school but sometimes it's fun to stay home and read books and have Mommy bring her tea and toast. I agree with that.
I also liked how she tried especially hard to be good at the zoo because Daddy was one of the parent chaperones. Like I said, I think this is a really cute book overall.

This book is one of my favorite Little sister books. I always read it when I am sick and it makes me feel better. I really like their class trip at the end, it sounded fun.

I remember when I used to read this and have trouble pronouncing the different animals in the book. It conincided with my trip to the zoo in the 3rd grade, so it was real treat for me.
