Since there's a comedy thread in the regular series section I thought we needed one here. Plus I just read something that cracked me up. Just started Karen's School Mystery. Nancy wants to get a haircut and Karen reminds her not to go to Gloriana's because they ruined Karen's hair. Karen's thoughts on her hairdo: "It was a disaster. I looked like a squirrel." ;D Now that I think of it, squirrels do have the whole "business in the front, party in the back" look of a mullet. ;D

^ I never thought of that but you're right about squirrels. ;D I also love that quote. Great thread. ;D There are some good moments in the LS books and I'll have to look for them now to post here.

This is a good topic! I know there's a ton of funny moments in LS; once I can find some specific ones I'll post them on here!

One of my favorites is the guy in costume coming to Karen's house to announce she's won the contest in Karen's Baby-sitter. It's just so absurd.

^ That is definitely a good one. The whole thing with Bart and the plant in that one is funny, too. ;D Also, Karen "drawing the line at changing the peanut butter" in Karen's Nanny makes me laugh because it's definitely something I would say. ;D

Karen writing out her will in the book where she has dental surgery. So something I would have done as a kid (actually, I did do it once!)

^ I always laugh at that part, especially since when I had to have all of the dental work done, I told my mom that I considered doing this. ;D I think the funniest parts of the LS books are the ones that I can relate to, even though they're extreme. In a way, I'm laughing at myself. ;D

In Karen's Fishing Trip half of the Big House family is at Shadow Lake along with Mary Anne, Hannie and Nancy. Without asking for permission first, Karen invites her Shadow Lake friend to go on the family boat. When she does ask Watson, he doesn't think there's enough room. Elizabeth is like "Can't we try?" and Watson goes "I have no choice but to end up with 100 children on my boat, as usual." Can't believe it took Watson so long to realize how absurd his vacations were.

It's his own fault. He's the one who always has to show off and invite all of stoneybrook on his vacations!

When Karen writes out that list after she gets her glasses about ways that she can torture Ricky and she writes down to tell him that his eyes have turned orange ;D.

^^The orange eyes thing always makes me laugh.
The little sister books have a lot of funny parts in them. The part in Karen's Big Joke where the "contest official" is at the big house and they're all acting like pigs is hilarious. And am I a horrible person for laughing every time I read the part in Karen's Stepmother where she gives Elizabeth the bouquet of dead flowers for Mother's Day?

And I love the guy in the palm tree costume, too. It's just so ridiculous.

I also laugh at the part in Karen's Big Sister when Karen gives Kristy that paper pin to replace the real one she lost in the snow with a note saying she was sorry she lost it but she should've let her borrow it ;D.
