I also think it was a very funny, bratty thing of Karen to do when she gave Elizabeth a dead bouqet of flowers. Karen can be very insensitive, especially when she is angry at someone.

I kind of like the parts where she scares Andrew. In Karen's Little Witch, she scares the poor kid by making a witch decoration talk.

When Karen thinks she can chase after the rainbow ... and actually tries it (and gets lost!)

I'm reading summaries for the Little Sister Halloween books to refresh my memory. In Karen's Candy apparently Pamela and company call themselves the "Milky Ways" to rival the "Three Musketeers". I don't remember this.

It's been awhile since I read Little Sister books but so many funny memories have stuck with me!
-First, of course, is "Charlie's 5-Dollar Bracelet" from Karen's Newspaper. "5 dollars didn't seem like a lot but what do I know about jewelry?" He probably bought it at Claire's. -Later in Karen's Newspaper when Sam is laughing hysterically at the funny 3M Gazette (I didn't think it was THAT funny, Sam), Andrew asks Karen what's wrong with Sam or why he's crying. -I forget what book this is, it was a Halloween one. Pamela, Leslie and Jannie tease Karen for planning to be a witch for Halloween, calling it babyish. They then proclaim they're going to wear grownup costumes. And these little girls come to school as a flight attendant, punk rocker and waitress. I remember the illustration for that one being really funny too -In Karen's Doll Hospital, she sings the old song "Oh You Beautiful Doll!" to Hyacynthia but she only knows the first line so she just keeps singing it over and over -I think it was Karen's Goodbye, when the Delaneys move away. Or whichever one where the Kormans move in. Karen is wondering about who will move into the Delaneys' old house and one thought she has is "What if it was a house of BOYS?!?!"

I could have sworn I never read that but I guess I did! I just remember Karen feeling upset because she thinks a witch is a babyish costume then Pamela shows up as a flight attendant XD Also funny - the song from the We Hate Boys club, which I still remember almost 30 years later. "We hate you boys, we always will, we hate you boys, you're such big pills!"

^ I'm wrong, it was Karen's ghost!
The we hate boys club was funny, I think Karen's brothers is one of my favorite little sister book for the sheer ridiculousness of it.

Karen's Reindeer. Karen was trying to suck up and be good for Santa, so she walked into the kitchen and told Elizabeth that breakfast smelled delicious. Elizabeth said it was cereal. I just thought that was funny that it was something pretty odorless.
Same book, Bobby spit his gum onto the floor. Pamela had a fit and told him to pick it up. He called her Gumela and told her to do it. Stupid, but it's funny to see other people butt heads with Pamela.

Karen's Mistake was overall pretty snarky and funny. Karen was upset that Nannie was on a date. Watson asked Karen to help with the dishes. Karen lied and said she had homework. Her thought: "But just because Nannie was out on the town did not mean I had to dry bowls." Lol.
Nancy hated the Nate Bellows guy that Hannie was crushing on. Karen said remember the song called "Hurts so Bad"? Nancy said "It hurts to listen to that song."
Hannie got over Nate Bellows and started crushing on a guy called Josh By-Gosh. That guy was going to regret that stage name.

Karen's Birthday. Karen sent party invites to both houses at the same time, but they showed up to the Big House a day before the Little House. Karen goes, "You know the mail." I thought that was funny because #1, the post office is even sketchier now than when this was written. And, #2 do little kids really know the mail?
Sam answered the phone "Brewer and Thomas Summer Home. Some are home, some are not." Sam had the dad jokes.
