I just read the Little Sister book where Amanda came back to visit and was upset by all of the changes to her old house. The Kormans also removed the tennis court to put in a garden. If you want a house with a yard, why not look for a house with a yard?
(Off topic, but I didn't get why Abby's mom bought a house in that neighborhood, either. I don't understand people with money.)

I just finished Don't Give Up, Mallory, and the marching band subplot was so boring to me that I kept putting the book to the side whenever a sitting chapter came up lol (I'm not skipping subplots in my re-read). the second i read the title of this thread i thought "the buddy barrett marching band"
