Natalie was so wrong for that, Karen should have written the name for the engraver instead
I thought it was so unrealistic that someone's students and their families would be invited to a teacher's wedding. My dad photographed my teacher's wedding, but even we weren't invited as a family, nor was anyone in class. But then again Stoneybrook is a small town.

This is proof of why the titles of the Little Sister books always bothered me. This was not Karen's wedding, it was her teachers. Just like Karen's Baby, wasn't her baby it was Nancy's parents. Eh...oh well. I enjoyed the stories once I got past all the titles.
I really liked Karen's teacher. She seemed patient and loving. I never really could figure out why Karen was her favorite student. I would really feel bad for the rest of her classmates, because she bragged about being her teacher's favorite and flower girl.

The students get invited to the teacher's wedding in a much more realistic children's book, Ramona Forever , when Aunt Bea gets married. But Ramona is the flower girl, not some random girl from Aunt Bea's class!

I always wondered why every book had to be karen's _____ and no other type of title like the BSC ones. I was shocked when super special 4 came out That was my #1 annoyance when it came to LS. I always assumed that they titled them that way not only because Karen was the main character and narrator in every book (like in the BSC for example the book Kristy's Great Idea was centered on Kristy the main character and she was the narrator and it was like that for the other sitters and their books) but because Karen's (insert random word here) was easier for younger kids to read because it was short but to the point and summed up what the book would be about. However it is annoying; especially for books like this when you know it's not Karen's Wedding. Plus when I got into LS I was a pretty good reader so I found the titles lame even at that age.

I got my hands on some of The Kids of Polk St. School books, and in one the whole class goes to their student teacher's wedding. When I read that one I immediately thought of this book. Seriously, didn't these poor teachers have any friends or relatives?

Maybe they all came from small towns where everyone knew each other, that's the only good explanation I can think of. And most of their friends moved away or were living somewhere else settled in with their families or careers. I guess there was no facebook and internet then, so now it's much easier to keep in touch with your friends.

Yes, it was very unrealistic for Karen and her family to be invited!

Well, I think Ms. Colman knew her family, but the others? Nah, they were not necessary

It's defined that Lisa and Seth had gotten to be good friends with Ms. Colman and her fiance, although I don't remember how they'd gotten to know each other.

I think it started when Karen wanted Lisa and Seth to invite Ms. Colman over for dinner in Karen's Doll Hospital, maybe I'm confusing it with Mr. Kelly, but it was definitely sometime in 1993. It could have also been Karen's Tuba, though I think she may have already been over for dinner in that book.

I was also confused at how close Lisa and Ms. Colman became. Because I remember in another book, as supprazz said, Karen wants to invite Ms. Colman to dinner. But the way the book was written, it seemed as if Lisa didn't know her very well and vice versa. Now all of a sudden they seem like such close friends, it's kind of weird. I just felt that it could have been put in to help the plot of this book.

Oohhhh I think I recall what it was! Ms. Colman first came over during Karen's Snow Day for dinner, I may have re-read the book at some point this year and remember the dinner being postponed one time but then it took place. Following that I think Ms. Colman and her fiance were over once again at the beginning of Karen's Tuba and she told Karen there would be a surprising announcement at the beginning of the book, and Lisa & Seth had told Ms. Colman that they will throw a party for her wedding as a gift.
