I was reading all the BSC books with weddings in them shortly before my wedding, and I thought it was weird of Lisa and Seth to throw a party for Ms. Colman and her fiancé a week before the wedding. An engagement party after people announce their engagement, a long time before the wedding, makes sense, but what the heck is the point of this party? They are just going to see all of these people a week later at the wedding, anyway.

Maybe Ms. Colman didn't have a favorite and Karen just assumed that she was the teacher's favorite.

I just realized that Andrew has the tool belt on on the cover. I forgot that he wore that to the wedding! I also forgot that Ms. Colman goes to Niagra Falls on her honeymoon. I live about an hour away from there!

I forgot about Niagara Falls, so cool! If there was a wedding reception, Andrew could have done the YMCA

^ LOL! It took me a second to get that joke. I think Andrew would especially fit into the YMCA crowd when he's older, if you get my drift

I don't think he's gay, if that's what you meant.

I didn't like Karen much in this book. Calling Natalie a worrier when all she does is worry about the Caroline/flower girl stuff. I would think being co-flower girls would be something she would think of sooner. Plus bragging about going to their teacher's house, and she shot down Pamela's bake sale suggestion immediately. The class really does look to Karen as their "leader" and Pamela can't stand it.

I did think it was very nice of Ms. Colman (and Caroline) to have Karen be a flower girl. I understand that Ms. Colman and her fiance were friends with Lisa and Seth. I also wish as others have said we had gotten to read how their friendship developed. That said, I wonder how the other girls and even boys felt about Karen being in their favorite teacher's wedding and not them. I would hope if invited Ms. Colman had dinner with some of her other students' too. Maybe if the KiMCC series (about Karen's classmates)had continued, such a plot might have made it in a book. I am reading "Karen's Big Lie" right now and will read about this wedding tomorrow. Oh, I had never thought about all the titles belonging to Karen but, you guys are right, the ghosties and Ann could have strayed from that in one book (I know they sort of did in "Karen, Hannie, and Nancy, The Three M's). I admit that the first time I looked at this cover, just at Karen and the title I thought it was the story were she and Ricky got married and maybe Andrew somehow attended.

Even though I made a joke about it myself, in all seriousness, I think that 4 is way too early to be able to determine someone's sexuality. I just feel like he reminds me soooo much of me when I was that age which is why I made the comment earlier.

I reread last night and I really enjoyed how all the KIMCC came together to earn money for the cup all the planning they did. I thought that was really sweet. It's also always good to read a but more about kids such as Hank who we don't always hear from and Pamela, Jannie, and Leslie, not being meanie mo's. My very favorite part was when at the wedding Andrew fixes Lisa's purse with his toy tools (out of boredom) so funny and cute, too. I love Andrew. I also still felt absolutely awful for him that he had to accompany his mom, Karen, and Ms. Colman on the shopping trip for Karen's dress. Why he couldn't have played with Alicia Gianelli, another friend, or spent extra time at the big house that afternoon is sad and beyond me. It seemed like he could have done that on wedding day, too. I did think it was very nice how Ms. Colman and her husband invited all the kids and their parents to attend, As for Karen being the flower girl, I'm glad she got to do that and liked that Caroline was able to do so also. I just still wonder how the other KIMCC felt and would have loved, in one book anyway, reading about Ms. Colman going to dinner at one of their homes. Oh and lol to Andrew saying the wedding buffet reminded him of Chuckie's Happy House--I'm guessing that must be like a Hometown Buffet. I really do think one of the Pikes with possibly help from Claudia might enjoy going into the buffet restaurant business.

Natalie was so wrong for that, Karen should have written the name for the engraver instead I thought it was so unrealistic that someone's students and their families would be invited to a teacher's wedding. My dad photographed my teacher's wedding, but even we weren't invited as a family, nor was anyone in class. But then again Stoneybrook is a small town. The students get invited to the teacher's wedding in a much more realistic children's book, Ramona Forever , when Aunt Bea gets married. But Ramona is the flower girl, not some random girl from Aunt Bea's class! Karen wasn't the flower girl. She was a junior bridesmaid. Willa Jean, the groom's niece, was the flower girl.

Anytime, I see Karen's Wedding. I'm thinking it's her wedding, not her teacher's wedding.

I reread this morning and really like the spring-y feel even if the book doesn't officially take place then, I imagine it does. I also thought it was cool Mrs. Hoffman and her husband attended Ms. Colman's wedding and would have enjoyed a moment where a KIMCC met Mr. Hoffman. I still feel badly for Andrew being "boreder than before" while Karen tries on flower girl dresses and will never understand why he couldn't have spent the afternoon with his dad or even a friend. His tool-belt scenes at the wedding always make me laugh, so funny and cute. Natalie and the engraving, so awesome how all the KIMCC came together to get it. I do remember back in the 80's and even early 90's a store called "Things Remembered" where you could have fancier items engraved. I know Natalie tells her friends she wrote down their inscription, but, IDK, seems to me for such an expensive gift, there would (or should) have been a way of double checking or the person taking the order reading it back to Natalie if nothing else. I did think it was sweet how at the end Ms. Colman assures her class she doesn't care about the name because it is from them. The only negative thing about this book for me is it always makes me wish there had been more KIMCC books or that within the LS other KIMCC (at least one) had had Ms. Colman over to their house for dinner. I know she and her husband were friends with Lisa and Seth but it seems like all the kids truly liked her and I just (have no clue how she would have done this) wish Ms. Colman had somehow assured the other girls in her class that she cared about them, too, in terms of choosing Karen as her flower girl. I was happy Karen got to do that since she truly does love her teacher.
