Hyacynthia sounds dumb, like its a play off of Hiyacinth the flower. but then Cynthia sounds too much like the name of Angelica's doll in the Rugrats series. So i guess Hyacynthia is better.

I voted for "hippopotamus". it sounded like something a brother would "accidentally" say to cheese off his sister.

I've never been a big doll person but thought it was hilarious how Hyacynthia was named, a genuine 7 year old moment with Nancy. I also thought Andrew's names were funny. Hiawatha I think is the best name overall, I think some of the others were just to keep that Andrew-line going in the story.I did like Hippopatomus because it did remind me of the Hungry Hippos game I loved as a kid and many preschoolers I taught also enjoyed playing. In the context of the story, Andrew asked where Hippopatmus was at the start of Hyacythnia's disappearance, so it was sort of a newer first made up name. Also even though I know Andrew had just realized he had not seen the doll all weekend at the Big House and was also wondering where she was, that small question for a second anyway, brought a little humor to the situation. That reminded me of how Claudia a lot of times helps avert BSC fights by either offering around candy or in some other way, subtly reminding the others that the "fight" isn't that important and to calm down.

Andrew was funny in this book, now that I think about it, I am kind of surprised by him being able to pronounce cinnamon too, I don't think I could when I was 4 going on 5.
