Happy that I can finally comment on this book! I have to admit, when I first saw the part with Karen dropping stuff on the floor she was pissed off about something..so to realize it was nothing I was like..um..ohkaay. I agree she was possessive and bossy..then again they can be the same..like in Karen's Twin, Karen's Goodbye and the brief moment Nancy was mad over a misunderstanding. Come to think of it, Nancy and Hannie turning on each other was unexpected.

Nancy had the best alarm clock ever created! It was a cat that you could set to purr, growl, or meow to wake you up. I want one.
There was a little inconsistency the first time that Hannie came over to the Little House. She was dropped off by car. The girls went bike riding later, and she said she borrowed a bike from David Michael. (Karen called Shannon the dog a boy again, too. Ann had a few brain farts in this.)
I liked Hannie's little bit about being a writer when she grew up because she didn't think she could get paid to be a reader. (That would be a cool job. She could be an editor.) She wanted to travel the world, then win gold medals swimming in the Olympics, then write a book about her Olympic experience, then be a gardener, then be a painter, and then build two houses. (One for herself, and one for a yet-undecided person.) She was going to have a cool life. (I hope she got to finish Sarah, Plain and Tall. She spent the whole book trying to get through it.)
My dad's side of the family is big and rowdy, so I completely related to Nancy at the cabin during the rainstorm. There were 20 people hanging out in one room of that cabin. That makes my skin crawl a little.
Do we think that Andrew learned how to read or that he memorized the book?
Nancy was so lonely that a moth once flew into her room, and she named it Bob. Thank God she got Pokey. (Pokey would have eaten Bob.) I liked the contrast between Nancy really wanting a younger sibling and Hannie wanting Sari to vaporize.

Lol poor Nancy, yes thank god for Pokey.
That clock is genius. You could set it to purr when you want a gentle wake up, meow for normal days, and growl for when you have an important event and can’t afford to snooze!
