^ Oh okay. Yeah, I was wondering, why David Michael didn't get a gold fish? Why couldn't he get other pet. He did get the Shannon. But, wasn't mostly for the family. He had shared the dog.

I don't believe in this whole, this person's pet, that person's pet crap. I do agree Shannon was a family pet, and that one more fish would have not been a big deal.

^If you don't believe "this person's, that person's" then weren't the fish already David Michael's as well?

This book is my favorite mention of Natalie playing the violin. She plays Twinkle Twinkle Little Star at Crystal Light's funeral and snort cries while she plays.

I think it's so cool how natalie plays violin. I know she first played it in Karen's in Love but I wish she played it later on...has she? She should have been in the BSC talent show, after all those "years" of practice, she may have been a veteran! I loved how she became friends with Charlotte and Becca so she and Charlotte could have supported one another in building confidence while performing an instrument
I really think he could have at least made an offer if not gotten the fish for him

Such patient parents, especially the parents of the kids from school who don't live right near the big house.

The dedication to this book is “for Sara and Matt from Aunt Martin.” My niece and nephew call me by my first name only. I should make them refer to me as Aunt Lastname and see what they do.
This whole book is funnier when you think of the timeline. Karen got Crystal Light on a Saturday. She left the big house the next day. Charlie brought her over once during the week to say hello. The thing died the next Wednesday, two days before the next big house weekend.
Karen was teaching kids how to be manipulative. Watson seemed like the type that would have a huge fish aquarium wall already. They’re very relaxing. I understood his annoyance at being conned into all the fish supplies, but he and Elizabeth suggested a bunch of rodent pets. Those would have needed a ton of supplies also.
Crystal Light stayed dead in the playroom for 4 days. They said it stunk so badly that they had to keep the door closed. Throw it in the freezer. Put it in the garage. Anything.
Was Boo Boo so fat because he was eating the backyard fishies? How did they never know that Morbidda had a big ol’ fish pond?

I get Karen was upset over losing Crystal Light but I always thought she was really nasty to David Michael over it. Doesn't she call him a murderer and a fish killer? Yikes. Though I guess that's a 7-year-old's way of thinking
