Yes, I agree. She went back on everything she had previsouly said, it was like she was a different person?!

Tell me about it. Mrs. Hoffman had no right to enforce the dress code. I loved the Hatey Hoffman song and how Karen and the classmates threw a good-bye party for her. I also liked how Mrs. Hoffman was mentioned in Karen's Tuba.

I wasn't crazy about this book. Mrs. Hoffman was very strict. (Until the class wore the clothes backwards) Nice the class give a go away party.
When I was in school. People who wore glasses. Sit in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd seat. (Sometimes 4th or 5th row.)

In the beginning of the book, the characters are talking about what they're putting on their pizza quarters. Then there's a picture of a pizza divided into 6ths. Hee.

That kind of reminds me of "Karen's Sleepover" where everyone thinks a cookie they made looks exactly like Ricky Torres, and all the illustration shows is a cookie man with a face consisting of two chips for eyes and one for a nose. And one eye was smaller than the other.

I thought that the rules Mrs. Hoffman made were ridiculous. I wonder why none of them spoke to their parents about it.

How about that mean story Karen wrote about "Mrs. Hoffburger?" I would have never had the nerve to do something like that when I was a kid! And she got an A on it. I did like how she wrote a new, nice version at the end to give to Mrs. Hoffman.

^Good camparison! Honking always makes me feel better. I don't do it in a traffic jam, but I looove to honk at people when they cut me off!
It always bothered me that they moved Karen to the front after she wore glasses. Never understood it. I don't remember that happening in any of my classes, but maybe I never paid attention.

Karen was pretty ballsy writing that story about Ms. Hoffman and handing it into her. I would never have had the guts to do something like that...

Maybe because of freedom of speech? They could get Karen in trouble for it, but that would be really bitchy and overbearing of the school in a way...

I don't know if I'd consider reprimanding Karen for that "bitchy and overbearing," IMO it pretty much fits the definition of insubordination, which was a central detention offense at my high school.
