Yay!
Drew rocks. I like that she went along with Karen's story.

^ I think that supprazz was making a joke in that maybe Ann wanted the title to be Karen's A Little Witch but decided to leave out the word "a" so that the title would be Karen's Lttle Witch.

did Ann leave "a" out of the title? LOL, it took me a minute to get that, but I literally LOLed at it! You kinda have to wonder... It might be the fact that I'm into witches and the color black, but I think Dru looks really pretty on the cover and the internal illustrations. Also, imo I imagine she is a considerably prettier than Karen, or at the very least more interesting looking. To me, pale skin with dark wavy hair and dark eyes sounds pretty lovely. Anyways, I felt bad for Dru that the other kids were so distant with her. I mean, maybe her mom and dad wear black a lot and buy her black clothes because that's what they wear. She seemed like a sweet kid... I imagine she went along when Karen rudely asked if she was a witch because she was just so lonely. And I thought the party sounded pretty fun. I didn't know they made adult sized pumpkin costumes though, lol. I was pretty happy when Karen was thinking that Mrs. Porter wasn't a witch. That Morbidda Destiny BS gets old. But I pretty much figured she'd start back at square one before the book ended.

And I thought the party sounded pretty fun. I didn't know they made adult sized pumpkin costumes though, lol. Dude, they make adult-sized everything costumes nowadays. I was on a Halloween pub crawl last year, so obviously everyone around me was an adult. My husband was Cobra Commander from G. I. Joe, and among other things, there was a Red Fraggle, a set of Power Rangers, and a giant peacock. There might not have been that much variety back when this book was published and people couldn't order costumes from the Internet, but I'm sure there would've at least been pumpkin costumes. What I want to know is why Bart's parents happen to have two lobster costumes that fit thirteen-year-olds. Someone brought this up on a BSC blog when she was recapping Kristy's Mystery Admirer, and I'd never thought about it before, but it is pretty weird.

Or. Mrs. Porter made her pumpkin costume herself.

As a kid, I would have LOVED the pencil with pumpkin eraser that Mrs. Porter gave out at the Hallowe'en party.

As a kid, I would have LOVED the pencil with pumpkin eraser that Mrs. Porter gave out at the Hallowe'en party. That reminds me. I used to have a pencil collection of all the specially decorated pencils that my teachers would give out. That was a very common present/prize at my school. I think I still have a couple somewhere.
