I know this is a highly debated topic, but I'm always curious to see what people think...
Do you think if the series had gone on and Ann was able to break away from the safer topics (not that death and eating disorders are safe), he would have been gay?
All signs really point to yes, but then again things didn't always progress logically in the BSC-verse.

Yes, absolutely. And not for stereotypical reasons like OMG Logan's sensitive so he must be homo!!! After reading Ducky's first diary, there were definitely subtle signs.

I haven't read any of Ducky's diaries... only Dawn's, which is why I didn't comment yet, but I have heard people say that a lot.

I love Ducky's Diaries :] And Macca, agree on that one. He's not the typical idea, but close to it. Just enough that he's not utterly stereotyped I think. I would have loved to see it happen...sigh one can wish.

Oh yeah I'm def looking out for the CD books, I do see them at a bookstore around here, but I want to get them in order, so I'm holding off a bit. I think I'm the only person in AZ who buys BSC books, cause they're never gone, lol.

Only a few here and there that have been read to death.

After reading the third Ducky diary, I think that yeah, the chances are quite high that Ducky is gay.

I thought she was being as explicit about the fact that he was gay as she could be without actually stating it.

With the heavier subjects they covered in these boys, I think she could have really come out and said it. Not him having oodles of sex or anything but at least him coming out. THen again, for all we know that could have been Ducky Diary 4 that we never got to see.

I don't know why she couldn't have explicitly stated that he was gay! They had bloody everything else in the series! Eating disorders, deaths, suicide attempts, depression, domestic violence, alcohol...

But there is sex in the series!! I swear there is! There's attraction and kissing, at least.

But there is sex in the series!! I swear there is! There's attraction and kissing, at least. Sure, but it's always insanely wholesome. Some might question how "devoted" MA and Logan are, for a thirteen yr old couple, but they are probably the least "passionate" young lovers on the planet (well, if they actually existed, of course ;D) ... I don't even remember that many instances of them kissing. Kristy and Bart's makeout session was probably the most controversial episode. Even Sunny's sluttiness was as understated as possible. But ITA, it wouldn't have hurt AT ALL for Ducky to have "come out"... although it was all but confirmed in Ducky, Diary Three. Anyone able to read between the lines, even remotely, could see where it was going. As someone else mentioned, we need a Ducky, Diary Four. Now that would rock!

Hm, I thought there was less-wholesome sex in CD... Now that I think about it, it was probably all written between the lines.
