Aw, little Lucy Newton! Soooo cute! And Jamie when his eyebrows are all frowny! And pre-BSC Mal! And the girls cracking up when Kristy pretends to be dating Winston Churchill! And Sam winking at Stacey during the Big Brother party--and I don't even like Stacey/Sam!
This broke my squee-meter, me thinks. I must go read something very serious, like a Dead Russian White Male, so it has time to reset.

I finally got my hands on a copy ant I thought that it was really cute. I wonder why Claudia and the phantom phone calls was left out? And which book is next?

it was left out because raina thought that claudia and mean janine was more important plot-wise. the next book is mary anne saves the day. for bsc graphic novel info, check out http://bsc_graphix.livejournal.com .

I love the graphic novels more than I thought I would. I like how they make the BSC a little more modern but still have the essential BSC elements.

I found it absolutely hilarious that the cost of a small drink and popcorn went from $1.75 in the original book to $9.25 in this when she forgot "how expensive things are in New York." What a difference 20 years makes.
Laine looked a lot younger than I expected. She's supposed to look 17 (or was it 19?) in a year?
I understand why Phantom Phone Calls was skipped, but it's kind of weird that it seems to have never happened. Kristy asks why she would want to go to a dumb dance. Oh well, I guess they were just trying to establish her personality.
Nice touch to have Claudia eating much of the time.

Finally got around to reading this. Loved it! Jamie and Lucy...too, too cute. So were Pete Black and Mallory. Mr. McGill looked really nerdy. Loved Kristy's face in the scene where they're wearing the sandwich boards and the bus from Stoneybrook High drives by. The scene where Charlotte apologizes to Stacey for acting angry towards her was so sweet.
I've said it before, but it bugs me how Laine is drawn. Just too young-looking; I guess it didn't help that Stacey looked taller than her. But I loved that the part from Stacey's Portrait about the two of them wanting their own apartment was worked in.

They're usually in most book stores. I've seen them in Barnes and Noble, Waldenbooks, and Borders.

I almost bought it today but decided against it for the time being. I did flip through it, and it looks just as cute as the first one, even if it's really short. Too bad they're skipping Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls. I like that one much better than Claudia and Mean Janine and it would've been cool to see it. But I'm not complaining - hopefully these books are going to get a new generation interested in the BSC.

I got this book recently and I thought Janine actually looked kind of cute. I guess I was her expecting her to look more like a stereotypical nerd.

Yay!! I ordered mine from amazon (one of the cheaper versions) and I FINALLY got it on thursday (I was sick yesterday so wasn't on at all or would'v posted this sooner). I read it, and I absolutely loved it. I found myself lol'ing at parts...I loved how...cartoonish it seemed...weird, but it worked. Charlotte and Jamie were adorable. I agree that Laine looked realllllllyyyyyyy young...but then again, they WERE 12...but still. (braces?) $9.25 Oh my lorddddddddd lmaoooo I'd have died. here it's like around $6.50 for that. (Hmph Still $5 Stace? Is Stoneybrook really that cheap?)
