So as many of you know, I'm trying to read all of the books, in the order they came out. I've skipped a lot of Little Sisters, as I was never into them, and I don't have them. But my point is that I am stuck. I don't want to read them all, because then there will never be a BSC book that I haven't read. I also am afraid that if I do read them all, I won't want to re-read them anymore. It happed with Harry Potter -- I read the first 4 like a billion times... and book 7 once. And I haven't picked up a HP book since Deathly Hallows came out. I don't think that would happen -- I really like the earlier books in the BSC series. But I am afraid that once I read them all, I'll be stuck with this giant collection that I no longer want Does anyone else have these kind of weird, random thoughts? I know a lot of you have read all of them/have all of them.

I think I'm the exact opposite. I'll order a few books from Amazon, then I'll re-read them about four or five times before I order more!

No, I love rereads. On the other hand, I kind of don't want to be "caught up" with my American Girls books...very wierd, because they have consistently been bringing out a new character while I've still had 6-9 yet to get.

I tried doing the same thing that you are doing, Penny Lane. After I finished my collection, I read tried to read the whole thing in one day (a weekend), but couldn't do it because my eyes started hurting. Of which only turned out to be 8 books.

I've been attempting the whole read in order from the beginning thing for like 3 years now. I'm about halfway done. (Don't look at me like that. I read one or two a month, I'm not slow! And I refuse to skip one so if I don't have it I have to stall until I get it.) Point is, now I'm into the stuff I've never read so it is really fun. (And I own 50+ never-been-read-by-me books that I will get to someday, with more I'm still searching for, yay!) I doubt that I'll re-read some of them again but after all the effort I've put into finding and buying them I'm sure as hell not getting rid of them.

I'd like to reread them all in order, but I don't have them all and I'm missing a bunch. So I'd probably end up stuck.

Same here. Plus I think I might be tempted to skip ones I don't get into very easily.

Once I get my entire collection I think I will read from beginning to end. I am almost done collecting them all so we will see how that goes.

I go through phases with my books. Right now, I'm rereading practically my entire collection (a lot of them got stolen by my sister who claims that they're no longer in her room, but where else would 20 of my books have gone?), but then other times, they'll sit untouched for months. I have the entire Animorphs series, and they sit on my shelf untouched a lot. I'll probably hit them up once I'm done rereading my BSC books. That is, if I don't raid the used bookstores for more BSC.
But I do know what you mean about Harry Potter. I've definitely read the first four more times than the last three combined.

I am reading them all from begining to end also, and I am still collecting later ones. I am a bit worried I wont read all my books again (cause I'm collecting all 603 Sweet valley's too), but they are there if I ever feel like it. Plus, I can keep them for my kids, who will be forced to read them.
With HP, I think we are all HP'ed out. We read them over and over for years, trying to figure out the clues, and how it would end. As more became revealed, we didn't feel as much need. I am rereading them all again for the first time since reading 7, and am enjoying it. I can't wait to read 7 again cause i feel like I have forgotten stuff.

Plus, I can keep them for my kids, who will be forced to read them. LOL, that line made me laugh! ;D The way it is for me, is that I'll read some books, and then when I look around my room, I'll find more that I haven't read in a really long time (yes, my collection is kind of .. scattered.. throughout my house...) anyway, it's exciting to find a book that you haven't read in a long time, so it's kind of like reading it for the first time, I think. I mean, you probably know the gist of what happens, but you forget some, so it's nice to reread. Before I found all those new books, I was rereading Mallory and the Mystery Diary (currently on hiatus till I'm done with the new ones I found ;D) and it's still just as good as the first time I read it! (Which was a long time ago... I think MATMD was one of my first BSC books
