Maybe because they play more of a role in storylines? It's kinda too bad that they never really explored on the triplets as inviduals, because I always kinda had a soft spot for them. (and the whole Pike family as a whole.)

About other Pike kids taking lessons, in a book I read recently, Vanessa was taking ballet lessons.
The triplets play hockey, and possibly other sports. Providing three boys with hockey gear, even used gear, is NOT cheap. I don't know how they managed to swing that one.

Ooh in one of the books I just read (I think it was Goodbye, Stacey Goodbye), Vanessa was going to violin lessons.

When was Vanessa taking ballet?!?! Also, the triplets DO play Little League baseball as well as hockey. Not sure about other sports.

I don't know about soccer...do you remember when Jeff came back from CA at one point and thought his friendship with the triplets was over because he liked soccer and they didn't?

Hmm, I think I remember the triplets playing soccer too. Like when Jeff came back to visit, he was upset because the triplets had moved on from soccer to baseball. Or maybe Jeff moved on from baseball to soccer while the triplets still liked baseball? I don't know, this is getting confusing!

I just think the boys just liked many different sports.

I've been reading all the later books recently, so it must have been in a regular series book after #120 or in an earlier FF book. I think this is probably the only time her ballet lessons are mentioned. The Pikes need a sitter because Mrs. Pike has to take Vanessa to an "emergency" pre-recital ballet rehearsal and also get her a costume for the recital.

Man, those kids do take an awful of lessons. They probably get scholarships.

I usually find the Pike boys obnoxious little jerks (not quite as bad as Jeff in most books) but thought they were really sweet in the end of Mallory Hates Boys and Gym when they baked her the cake. Maybe there is potential after all. I thought it was interesting in that book, too, how the Hobart and Pike boys kind of switched personalities with switching houses. I wonder if the triplets were well behaved at the Hobarts just because it was something different, so they would soon adapt and revert, or if it was because they knew there were different rules and expectations (comments like "Mr. and Mrs. Pike don't really have rules). I am inclined to think it is the lack of expectations based on the Hobart boys' behavior. They are usually so good.

Possibly, I could see that being the case.

I've been noticing that the Pike boys' table manners seem atrocious. So do David Michael's and sometimes Jeff's. They're always doing "see food" etc. Since I don't have any brothers and only have memories of my 2 boy cousins from when we were kids, I'm not sure if this is typical for boys this age. Jake Kuhn, Matt Braddock and the Hobarts don't seem to do the same things, though, so I was wondering if the manners might be attempts to get attention in huge families.

My younger brother's table manners weren't atrocious, but I'm not surprised that the Pike boys' would be, since there are four of them, and boys in groups can be like that.
