I totally can relate to Jackie too. I'm clumsy like him. One time, at work, I had a whole tray of around 15 salads and dropped them all completely onto the floor. Another time, I was scooping beef into a bowl, and got burned by the juice that spilled over, which caused me to drop the entire bowl into the the beef boiler. So the beef, with the beef juice, had rice in it and I had to fish it out, which was very annoying to do.

^ ;D Reminds me of when we were at Perkins one time and heard a crash from the kitchen. I jokingly said said "that was our food" and of course, it was. We had to wait for so long but I felt bad for the waitress. Then another time, a trainee dumped an entire bowl of soup on my grandpa's lap. He laughed and helped her clean it up but she was mortified. I can imagine this is how poor Jackie feels a lot of times. At least his brothers don't seem to pick on him much for being clumsy.

I almost had a Jackie moment yesterday. The washing machine stopped working in the middle of a cycle, and I had visions of it starting up while I was agitating it, trying to start it up again, causing me to fall headfirst into the machine. Then somehow there was a kink in the drainage hose, and the water pressure buildup caused it to start spraying EVERYWHERE from around the gap between it and the faucet...then right around the time I thought I was going to have to pull all the wet, soapy clothes out and drain the machine using a bucket, it started up again.

Just read one of my favorite "Jackie moments" in Claudia Makes up her Mind where he is bending over laughing at himself and the baseball hits him in the rear end ;D It made me laugh even harder that right in the middle of the stuff about Jackie the "Walking Disaster", it mentions that several parents were there including Charlotte Johnassen's mom who's a doctor. Sounded like they needed one just for Jackie ;D

I seem to have a lot of Jackie moments at work. They always happen when we are really busy and I always am dropping something, running into somebody etc. It gets frustrating after awhile!

Just before I read this thread tonight, I was riding my pony and told my dad she was having a "Jackie" day. She was supposed to walk over some poles lying on the ground - not too difficult for a normal animal ;D - and she hit every one of them, almost falling down in the process ;D And her eye was all swollen this morning because she banged her head into the wall or something. I'm waiting for her to just trip over her own feet and fall down when I'm riding her - she almost has a few times. Anyway, speaking of Jackie, he always seems like such an affectionate little kid. I love the part in New Girl where he hugs Claudia and says he loves her. He also seems like a very sensitive boy. I think that might also make him feel worse about being accident prone than he would if he was the kind of person who is oblivious to everything and everyone else.

I always thought Jackie was really lovable, I think that is why he never got on my nerves. I think lovable kids are adorable.

When I was watching Dennis the Menace, I started thinking about Jackie and how the two of them are alike. They both have really big hearts and mean well but everything they do seems to end up wrong. I have days where I feel like this so I can relate. Glad I don’t have those days more often. ;D I really like Jackie and don't usually get annoyed by his accidents, though they do sometimes seem extreme. I would probably be annoyed if I really knew him but reading about him is okay. ;D

^ I would be annoyed if I had to clean up after him! But he is so adorable. We can be clumsy together. And last week, I was blending a drink and it turned out that the spigot (of the blender) was open and it came all rushing out. I slipped and fell on my butt. And I kid you not but right there and then, I thought of Jackie because he was the only clumsy character in something that I practically know of.

I specialise in Jackie moments. It's a rare day that I don't hurt myself somehow, or knock something over, or something like that. The wost was when I was working at McDonald's - I spilled a large Coke all over the floor, impaled myself on my name badge, dropped a yoghurt cup, then slipped and fell when someone was mopping the floor. In my defence, I have balance and eyesight problems, so it's not totally my fault.

I am always bumping into sharp corners, tripping over my own two feet, spilling things right and left. The other day, I hugged my mom, and spilled her coffee (which was sitting on the washer behind her) at the same time...AT least the glass did not break.

One time one of my roommates and I were reenacting the lake scene from Dirty Dancing with the jumps. I ran too fast and knocked her over and we ended up crashing into the wall.

^ That's funny. ;D I always loved that scene and used to fantasize about recreating it with a guy I liked (or Patrick Swayze ;D) ;D Sometimes I have Jackie weeks....
