I’m confused about some of the charges’ stage fright. I thought I remembered some books where Becca has terrible stage fright but then in Christmas Chiller she is the innkeeper in the Christmas pageant and she’s the narrator in Happy Holidays, Jessi. And in other books, she says she wants to be an actress. Did she get over her stage fright or is this yet another inconsistency or am I reading something wrong? The same thing seems to happen with Nancy and Hannie in the LS books. Also, I know Charlotte has real stage fright in several books but Get Well Soon Mallory mentions that she is going to be the “head turkey” in her Thanksgiving play. Is she okay as long as she doesn’t have to talk??? Anyone else ever wonder about this?

I don't remember Becca saying she wants to be an actress, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just another inconsistency. But I can believe that an eight-year-old would "forget" about her stage fright when she's at home and just daydreaming, and only be struck by it when she actually is in front of people. With Charlotte, though, I don't know. I mean, her entire character was based around being quiet, shy and scared of the spotlight. Maybe that bit was supposed to show how she's becoming more confident now that she has a bigger group of friends...but I'm guessing the writer just didn't think about it too much

^ Agree about Becca. I think Char was an oversight on the part of the writer in that book, though, since it was just mentioned that she would be the star of the play when she asked Stacey to come in their sitting chapter. Just noticed you hit 500 posts. Congrats! ;D I knew last night you would make it soon.

Which books say Becca wanted to be an actress?

i don't think it's contradictory to say becca wants to be an actress, even if she has stage fright--she could just love the idea of being an actress on a tv show or movie, even though she would be scared if she ever was on tv for real.

I remember it being mentioned about Becca's stage fright in Summer Vacation. Jessi says that Becca fainted while playing a flower in a school play.

^ That's one of the ones I remember, too, with the fright. As for her wanting to be an actress, I might be wrong as I can not remember which book it was in but I seem to think I remember it. Maybe it was just her star struck thing in Superbrat that I'm thinking of.

I thought I remembered some books where Becca has terrible stage fright but then in Christmas Chiller she is the innkeeper in the Christmas pageant I'm in the middle of this one and in one of Mallory's chapters she says it was a role Jessi convinced her to take with great difficulty. I don't think she ever "gets over" her stage fright in the books, because that really would be inconsistent with her character since she's always written to be very similar in personality to Charlotte. But she often sees Jessi getting these big roles in ballets and daydreams about what performing would be like, I think.

Charlotte seems like the sort who could easily get past stage fright if she has a lot of chances to perform (joining a choir in school, doing plays, etc.)

Charlotte seems like the sort who could easily get past stage fright if she has a lot of chances to perform (joining a choir in school, doing plays, etc.) Didn't Charlotte freak during the Little Miss Stoneybrook Pageant, forget the reading she was going to do and had to go home? That said, she actually did act in front of people in "Jessi's Horrible Prank" during the BSC Follies. She played Stacey, and she sounded pretty confident there. Maybe it was something to do with acting in the role of her favourite sitter?
