After rereading Kristy's Great Idea and Kristy and the Snobs, I can see how someone might mistake Morbidda for a witch. In both these books, Kristy and MA even seem a little scared of her. Though she's obviously not a "witch," I think she's actually not a very nice person - just has a kind of "sharp," "cold" personality. I was feeling sorry for her but not really anymore.

I think there are times when she shows her human side though--i haven't read the ls book (karen's little witch?), but she seems very sensitive and nice in the bsc book where dru's parents are getting divorced.

^ Oh, I agree. I just don't think she's a very warm, friendly person most of the time, though she probably can be in certain situations. Which book is the one with Dru? I'll have to reread that one and see what my perspective is and if it changes again ;D

I never made the connection with the last names, and agree the Ghostwriters missed a great ship there.

^ They do that a lot with missing opportunities. Kind of drives me crazy sometimes.

I read Karen's Rollerblades or whatever yesterday (where she breaks her arm). Poor Mrs P... I would hate to have kids so scared of me

^ I don't know, sometimes I get the impression (at least in the early BSC books) that she almost likes it. She at least doesn't seem too bothered by it. I have to admit that I'd probably be scared of her, too ;D Haven't read Karen's Rollerskates for a long time, though, so will have to reread and see what I think. I like that one anyway

Do you pronounce it MOR-bi-da or Mor-BID-a?
