This showed once again that Hannie was kind of a busybody with great observation skills. She showed up at the big house without even knowing that Karen was there and watched the family in the yard. She caught on to Karen copying Ricky immediately. She could really sit back and watch the whole class from her seat if she wanted to. I liked that she was naturally so good at math since she was often projected as slightly flighty. She wasn’t happy with a 93 because it wasn’t a 100, so she worked harder and got the 100. I was really annoyed that nobody in either household helped Karen study with her flashcards. She tended to be extremely lazy when she didn’t want to do something. Ms. Colman gave her good advice. She told Karen that she skipped a grade because she was very smart, but she shouldn’t expect everything to be easy for her. David Michael wanted a haircut like this maybe? It just said that the sides were shaved. This was 1993 when haircuts like this were very popular in my school. They were always ugly and poorly done. Karen’s two punishments were interesting. Lisa said no TV for two weeks. Watson said no allowance for two weeks. Lisa took away something that she didn’t like. (She was the one who didn’t allow Saturday morning cartoons.) Watson took away something that he liked very much. (Money.)
