Far too much rhyming.

I don't mind the ryming, but they really could have had some more original names.

Before deciding on Merry, Terry, and Kerry, they were going with Katie, Becky, and Laura. And the first time they were thinking of names Karen wanted Petrolia. Karen suggests getting snacks when they go the mall, and she ends up getting an Orange Julius like Nancy. She's hungry so she gets a drink? I wonder why Miss Donovan's poodle has a name like Station Wagon. ;D She barks at them?

If you're hungry, you get a snack, aka food not a drink ;D. If that were me, I would've gotten the Orange Julius (which is what, like an orange Icee or something?) plus like a candy or something. Food and drink ;D. I never liked the gymnastics part in this book. I liked reading about the Doll Sisters better and the names they picked for them. I so wanted Doll Sisters after reading that book ;D.

I never have found out exactly what an Orange Julius is. Anyone?

It's orange juice, ice, sugar, and milk mixed together.

I love the book, but it's more about the doll sisters than the cartwheel

Another case of the subplot taking over.

I agree. Maybe those were the names Ann M. Martin likes. I remember reading about how she uses the names she likes the best.

Ann wrote the LS books up to a certain point...hmm...a lot of them, anyway. Maybe Cartwheel was ghostwritten, though, I'm not sure.

I used to think that AMM actually wrote all of her books... then I came on here and found out the truth ;D. Seriously though, when I become an author I will write all of my books and never have anyone ghostwrite them .

At least the later ones aren't as glaringly ghostwritten as other series, like the Boxcar Children. I won't buy any of the later, gw, Boxcar Children books (#20-up), although I suppose if my dd ever wants to read them from the library when she's old enough I'll allow it.

I also wonder how many of the ls books were written by Ann M Martin. I always assumed she wrote the first 10-20 books.
