I felt bad for Karen getting sick on the bus and being teased by that girl Hadley. I liked the carnival idea and the fact that Watson and or/Nannie began driving Karen to school for awhile.

I loved how Karen dressed up for special occasions. (Special for her. Riding a bus to school and back wasn't exactly the highlight of my elementary school years. Except one year we got a bus that had a radio in it, so that was cool.) She wore her taxi-cab sweater because she didn't have a bus sweater. I threw up on the bus once in kindergarten. I wasn't teased by anyone. And I was too busy, you know, puking, to be embarrassed. The poor bus drivers have to clean up after the kids though.

Aww, I felt so bad for Karen in this one. I too, threw up on a bus in... 6th grade I think, after a long trip, just as we were pulling up to the school. I don't remember being teased about it though, which is odd. Cause it was gross (We ate hot dogs before the trip). But yeah, poor Karen

I have only read this one once because it made me cringe the whole way through and remember how I got picked on while riding the bus all through elementary school. I'm glad that the adults eventually found a solution that worked for Karen, because it was so cute how excited she was to ride the bus in the beginning.

this is one of the karen books where i don't despise her. i feel bad for her and think she's sorta cute, being all amped on the bus. my cousins kids get like that when they get to go to their cousins house and ride the bus-- they're more excited for the bus then the playdate

It was good that they didn't force her to ride the bus either, that could have been worse.

I felt really bad for karen in this book. I have to admit part of me felt really good when Karen knocked Hadley in that dunking tank at the carnival!

Totally. And what kind of a name is Hadley?

^I have never heard of it either. When I first read this book when I was younger I was reading her name as Haley, then I realized their was a d in her name.

If anything, it sounds like a boys name!

I like this book and I found it sweet when I read that Bobby saved Nancy from the big kids, and I can see them getting teased about liking each other

I felt bad for Karen when she threw up on the bus and getting teased as a result. I liked that Karen managed to duck Hadley in the water.

I like how there is consistency with Karen's taxi-cab sweater (she was also wearing it in Karen's Twin).
I agree with everyone that I felt bad with Karen. Truly, the bus driver should have been aware of the problem from the beginning.

Feel bad for Karen. The older kids been mean to her. I like the fall carnival. Sounds like fun. I wanted join in. Did not like Hadley. Hopefully she was in the book once.
The only time, I took a bus, when I was preschool. I didn't throw up. I did took off my shoes & socks off, the moment I got on the bus. The bus driver told my mom, tell your daughter to keep her socks & shoes on. From 1st to 7th grade. We car pool. The school, didn't had a bus. It was either my parents driving or our friend's parents driving to school. Then, when I went to high school. I took the bus. We could sit anywheres we want. Sometimes, I sit in the back or front. In 10th grade after my third hip surgery. I had use a special bus for wheel chairs. It was the pits. load me in. buckle wheelchair down. Pick someone up. drop them off at the north school. Then, finally be drop off at the central school. Do it all over again, when going home.
